7.3 percent of drivers say they’ve tried to prevent a motorcyclist from lane splitting. Of them, 43.6 percent said they did it because lane splitting is unsafe and 23.1 percent said it was because “it is unfair they get ahead of me.”
I thought the percentage would be higher than 7%. If it passes I can see myself using it to get to the front of the line at a traffic light. I could careless what the "it's not fair" drivers think.

Passing in no passing zone and possibly speeding is all I see.
Passing in a no passing zone endangers other people. Or doesn't that count with a motorcycle?
I don't see how the rider was endangering anyone in a cage. A motorcycle isn't going to run me off the road. It doesn't matter as a class C traffic infraction doesn't give you the right to swerve into them causing a wreck. The old man should have called the police and not committed a F/1. Now you have a 69yr old man doing 15yrs.

Re: SB 288 - Motorcycle "lane splitting" bill

Texas doesn't play when someone intentionally causes a rider to wreck. This guy got 15yrs for his actions. Check out the video.

Re: SB 288 - Motorcycle "lane splitting" bill

After watching some YouTube bloggers who ride in California where lane splitting is legal it seems
quite a few motorists either are ignorant of lane splitting being legal or just get mad that a rider gets to do it. They believe if they have to sit in traffic you should too. If it becomes legal I will keep pamplets of the law for when someone decides to throw a fit.
