Re: Instructor submitting 101's and 100's

Here's my take: If the instructor submits the LTC-100/101, it's likely going to sit in limbo. All the RSD needs from the Instructor is the LTC-8/9 certifying that the class occurred, & pass/fail status of each student. The LTC-8/9 is then associated with the INSTRUCTOR's file. The applicant (is, St...

Instructor provides to student. Student submits.

Well that's as I was trained, but I'm asking...anything wrong in doing so ? I have had several students mention being "computer illiterate", and if I can help further, why not ?

Instructor submitting 101's and 100's

Is an instructor ok to submit a students class completion form (100 or 101's) ? I heard of an instructor the other day submitting everything. It wouldn't be a bad idea, as I electronically save everything as a .pdf anyway. Just asking....

Re: wearing Armor

Just to clarify on original post....i was meaning during the shooting practical. Having several in my firing line, it's kinda hard keeping an eye on everyone. I've increased the number of relays, but I'm still seeing many first time shooters. I understand the LTC class is not a basic firearm class, ...

Re: wearing Armor

This webpage used to be a fun informative site, but it's turned into keyboard commandos, many of them being "senior members". One can't read a thread anymore without seeing sarcastic arrogance.

wearing Armor

With the rush of many gun newbies to get their license, has anyone considered wearing armor again.

Outdated LTC-100

I accidentally issued the previous LTC-100 form and students are receiving a letter asking for a current form. Am I to date it with the actual class date or is DPS wanting "today's" date ?

Re: concealed carry police station.

Last night I was asked not to carry in the police department's classroom, which is a side room from the lobby (not a backroom or non-public area) after asking (in private) if the building didn't fall under GC411.207. The building is no longer used as the city jail. The PD is clearly signed GC411.207...

Target size to distance formula?

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but is there a formula to simulate a smaller target as to what the distance would be of an average sized body ? Not sure if I made my question clear, so I'll try another way....a 12" metal silhouette would resemble a person a what distance ?

October Breast Cancer Awareness Targets

I've seen many past posts of students posing with pink targets (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Is there any official word on the use of these full-sized B-27 targets ? I've only used the red, green, blue, and black as mentioned during training. While on the subject, I've also noticed many half-size...

Re: Owner of 51% business able to carry on premesis?

Had the same question by a student as manager of a 51% business. Mentioned his boss was ok with it, but worried of the legalities. His concern was the high intake of cash he had to carry out upon closing for the night.

51% sign and not TABC licensed

How do you handle seeing a 51% sign with no mention of that business in TABC's public query system ? Do you cover this topic in class ?

Spanish LTC Class

I've been doing Spanish License to Carry classes in the Odessa/Midland area, but lately have been having second thoughts. I've been doing LTC/CHL for 4 years now and have avoided charging prior to class. Lately, on my Spanish classes, I'll have several sign up and come class day, I'll have over half...
