Re: Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new school safety plan and proposed changes to gun laws
How in the world can your son have the time and privacy to build a pipe bomb while living with you? Seriously? Where your parents with you 24x7 when you were a teen? A couple of hours on the internet one day, a trip to home depot on another, then a couple of hours putting them together! How do teen...

Re: Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new school safety plan and proposed changes to gun laws
And I was very disappointed that the governor did not bring up armed licensed parents at all - they are already vetted by the state, let them carry.

Re: Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new school safety plan and proposed changes to gun laws
He was 17. If bent on a rampage, he will find a way. No gun safe or gun lock was going to stop him. I would want to punish the parents for failing at their main job - parenting. How in the world can your son have the time and privacy to build a pipe bomb while living with you? I have a daughter - wh...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
Depending on which VEC the team works with, they should have the ability to electronically submit results for Technician licensees. I'm the contact VE for my team, and we submit our results to W5YI-VEC. Unfortunately, we don't submit enough tests for them to allow me to submit electronically, and I...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
Passed my tech exam today. Congrats!!! :txflag: It's typically only a few days wait. VE guy who was helping with Exams said it took around 10 days. Hope he's wrong and you're right! Congrats! I'd still expect 10 days. I took my exam on 2/25 this year, and the FCC issued the call sign on 3/7. The FC...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
Passed my tech exam today. Now to wait the 10 days or so to get into the FCC database and receive a callsign. Seems kind of ridiculous when it should take about 2 hours! Oh well. VE team has to mail the forms into VEC. VEC has to submit to FCC. Seems kind of archaic for 2018! Even DPS is mostly dig...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
Hello all, I'm in humble/atascocita (NE Houston) and I have a baofeng handheld with an upgraded antenna. I scan my local repeaters, but have only heard real communications on ham day... Is this normal? I guess I need to tune in on days with scheduled chatter.
Taking my tech exam Saturday.

No chance. Even if he raises more funds, Cruz will beat him easily.

Re: Land survey to GPS coordinates
If your survey and land have some easy to spot items like some fencelines, buildings, driveways, etc. do this: Take your survey and scan it. Use adobe photoshop or paint to remove (make transparent) everything out of the outside of the property line, and to remove a bunch of stuff on the inside (but...

Would have to find a jury in Texas that would prosecute you. If I'm on the jury, I will bring up jury nullification to my fellow jurors.

Got my pre-paid gun carry insurance these days, let's go! Haha. Maybe when I'm older I'll volunteer to be the subject for some case law cases.ScottDLS wrote:

Re: Federal GFSZ Handgun AND long or just handgun
If you are licensed by the state to carry or possess any kind of gun, then you are exempt from gfsza regardless of category of gun. Chas. told me this in another post that I’m too lazy to look up now. Other than whether you’re issued a license or not other state laws related to gun carry are irrele...
