To combat this sort of thing I have the Home on my GPS set to the local PD station, and I've drilled it in to my wife, if you even think you are being followed, drive straight to the police station.

Virginia is pro gun and unlicensed carry is legal if you don't hide the gun.

You can get a Virginia license pretty easily once you're there, assuming a clean record, if you want the option to carry a hidden gun.
