Booking Flights with online service - good/bad experiences?

On the rare occasion that I used to fly, I booked directly with an airline. I have to travel to Europe next summer, and it seems I can get good deals going through 3rd parties like travelocity or priceline. I have never used one of these booking services, so just a little leery. Any past experiences...

For the astronomers in the crowd, a local rancher hosts the annual El Dorado Star Party under very dark skies.

Re: Fort Wolters

I went to HS ROTC summer camp there in the summer of 63 & 64. First time I ever fired an M1 on Copperhead Range. It was still Camp Wolters first time I was there.

It’s not called “castle law”, it’s called MPA for Motorist Protection Act.

Re: Force protection warning: Joker movie opening night

This thread seems to have drifted off-topic.

I was concerned to read that the FBI's intelligence was based on discussions with Texas law enforcement. We should all be especially vigilant.

Re: Sign Posting On A Collage Campus

All of you arguing "effective notice" are missing the point. If you violate the handbook, you are fired or suspended. This is not a legal action and does not hinge on effective notice. You just probably can't be prosecuted for trespass. Recall, in Texas, you can be fired for no reason at all (unless...

Re: Sign Posting On A Collage Campus

Two things from above. 1. College sporting events are no longer prohibited by statute. Campus carry law changed that. Colleges must post 30.06 to prohibit carry at sporting events. 2. Employee and student handbooks may not have the exact proper wording, but violating a policy in that handbook can ge...

Re: Sign Posting On A Collage Campus

30.07 signs on campuses are irrelevant becasue open carry on any public or private college campus is prohibited by statute. If a private campus wants to opt out of campus carry, they must post valid 30.06 signs on each building that is opted out, including stadiums, classroom buildings and dorms. Fa...

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Sonora, TX

I'm surprised there is no mention of the Caverns of Sonora. Discovered originally in the 1920s, with another major discovery in the 50s, the caverns contain some of the most beautiful and unique cavern formations in the world. It is well worth a visit.

I get amused by you young whippersnappers, and your adamancy about clip vs. magazine. It was quite common in WWII and VN to call a M1911 bullet holder a "clip".

Re: Fort Sam Houston

It was partly due to Gen Pershing’s experience in Texas that lead him to propose a network of military capable highways around the US for national defense. He even drew up a map of proposed roadways. Compared to today’s Interstate highway system, it is very similar. Today’s Eisenhower Interstate Hig...

We've been talking about it for a while. Our grandson would love it. He's 10 y.o. They also have a dinosaur museum/(or something like that) as well. Just need to find time to do it. The silos are another reason to go. She's hooked on Fixer Upper. Even watches reruns of it. :yawn Once is enough for ...
