Re: Don't need to show LTC to LEO when carrying.

...According to the LEO I interacted with, this GC does no longer apply. ... I don't believe he is correct, but it is a useless bit of code. The duty to disclose your LTC still exists. The penalties were removed in 2009 and that may be what the LEO means. A duty without a remedy for noncompliance i...

Re: Don't need to show LTC to LEO when carrying.

So here's how the law reads: [GC §411.205. REQUIREMENT TO DISPLAY LICENSE. If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license holder’s person when a magistrate or a peace officer demands that the license holder display identification, the license holder shall display both the license...

Don't need to show LTC to LEO when carrying.

Had a weird collision with a runaway tire today that put me on the side of the road (long story, another time perhaps). Local Temple PD LEO showed and wrote up the report. He asked for my DL and insurance. I was carrying (concealed), so I also showed him my LTC. He said that was no longer necessary,...

Re: Went to the range in New Jersey today

They told me the story of a guy going home from the range, legally transporting who had a flat tire in a school zone, and is now in prison. Apparently these guys do it all the time here, but count me out. I wish someone had the wherewithal to sue them like they did in Illinois to force "shall issue"...

Re: Went to the range in New Jersey today

It would be interesting to know all the hoops the Gun Range had to go through to start business... $$$$$ cut a lot of red tape . I observed that LEOs get big discounts on memberships and purchases, and one staffer told me he was let off a traffic stop because he worked at the range. I don't know ho...

On side note I didn’t know alligators would chase you.

Re: Brass/steel/aluminum ammo. Pros and cons of each?

Steel is coated with a rust preventative which can get gummy when the barrel gets hot and then will get stuck in the chamber. I know this from personal experience. I bought a pack of aluminum 45ACP at a really good price. One in five failed to feed in my PX4. I was finally glad to get it all shot ou...

I have a non-resident permit for Illannoy because I have family in the Chicago area that I visit each year. I am one of 57 people with a non-resident Illannoy permit. Me too - same reason. (Unfortunately, she just got transferred to NJ <sigh>). OMG! She's gonna miss you! :biggrinjester: Actually, I...

Went to the range in New Jersey today

Visiting my daughter and her family in Roxbury, NJ who recently moved here (from Illinois - I can't get a break  ). She and I took my granddaughters to the range today. Yes, I know, I was surprised. Very nice facility, lots to rent. Had a nice discussion with the staff about gun laws in NJ, an...

The breweries in Waco are posted 51%, so wouldn't surprised if you found that. You should update texas3006.com after you visit.
