Re: 22 caliber qualification
Word to the wise. Unless they have changed it in the last few years, the Beretta Bobcat in .22 does not have an extractor. Cases are ejected by blowback, but if the shell misfires, you cannot rack the slide to clear it. You have to break open the action and use a knife or screwdriver to dig out the ...

Re: Instructor email from RSD
Thanks. That is a no-brainer. I would think anyone would understand that, but maybe not.

Instructor email from RSD
The TX Handgun Assoc just sent out a note saying instructors should watch for an email from RSD, sent out Jul 1, with the implication that it was important.
I did not get one. Anyone know what this is about?

Re: Is Taurus CS the worst in the Imdustry?
My Rossi snubnose .357 was really a good gun, and gave me no problems, but they said I should send it in, and it would take 12 weeks. After 3 months, I contacted them. They said it was still in the queue. After 5 months, I tried again, and it took 2 days and 5 phone tree choices to get to a human. A...

It has been legal to carry in a church for 21 years, unless the church was posted.

The point being missed is that this was in CA. It is unlikely that clerk will be allowed to carry, unless he has made a large contribution to the Sheriff's campaign fund.

Re: GUN SAFETY COURSE FOR ILLEGAL CONCEALED CARRY?
I've had 4 or 5 of these, usually for unlawful carry or unlawful discharge. This happens all the time. A lawyer makes a deal with the DA to drop a Class A or B misdemeanor offense to a Class C. The offender takes a gun safety class and pays a fine. The offender ends up paying about $2G, but does not...

Re: Range Instruction Content for Online LTC Proficiency Test
That is up to you. Typically, it would be either 1. For a weak student, whatever intermediate training would bring them up to the level of the Proficiency, OR 2. For stronger students, whatever more advanced training you see fit, to use up the time. I always tell people to bring 100 rounds of ammo. ...

Re: Had a Squib
I have seen several squibs with my classes. All of them with Winchester White Box. Last year I had an issue with a brand new Ruger 9mm (not extracting at all). I called Ruger, and she asked, "were you using Winchester White Box?". They seem to have a reputation.

I have always understood that to mean range facilities, so that they can, if required, verify the proper distances.

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
So what has changed to make a process that used to be quick and easy become a slow bureaucratic nightmare again? The difference is load. Sometimes they are hit with thousands more applications than normal, and don't have the staff to handle it. Right now there is a surge going on, caused by several...
