Re: Leather holsters

Thanks for your input but as I said in my post Im not interested in other choices as Ive akready narrowed my choice to those two Understood... of the two you mentioned, the Privateer appears to be MUCH more refined. I wouldn't even consider the southern trapper over the Privateer for the price it's...

Re: Leather holsters

I'm impressed. The stitching is top-notch, the edging/burnishing is excellent as is the detailing/boning; I don't regret the wait or the $130 for a second and it's probably the only holster I'll ever need for this pistol. Thanks Andy I appreciate hearing from someone who has one of the two holsters...

Re: Leather holsters

If I remember right the webisite says the cutlass rides low so does it conceal good? It does ride slightly lower - I have long arms so drawing is faster/easier for me with a lower holster. I didn't buy it for concealment, so I can't speak to that aspect - but here it is with me wearing it, to give ...

Re: Leather holsters

I've bought from Wes at Privateer - excellent communications throughout the process and his lead-times were accurate. This is the Cutlass model I have (left the pic big so you can see the detail): https://i.imgur.com/mdKoLJq.jpg If I remember right the webisite says the cutlass rides low so does it...

Re: Leather holsters

For that kind of money, I'd go with a name I knew... The southern trapper is similar to the I-Bak by Milt Sparks but the Sparks is molded all on the outside for extreme comfort and is a known commodity. https://www.miltsparks.com/products-i-bak.php The other one I would steer you towards would be t...

Leather holsters

I am planning on purchasing a HK 45C soon and have been searching the internet for a holster and Ive narrowed it down to two. The two I like are Southern Trappers Professional and Privateers Highman, do any of you have any experience with these two holsters? Im not interested in any other holster ch...

Re: Any other wheel gun carriers around?

When my wife wanted to start shooting at the range I wanted her to start out with a revolver so I got her a Ruger SP101 in .357 so she can shoot .38 special and use it sometimes to shoot .357 rounds

Re: Any other wheel gun carriers around?

I had a S&W model 29 back in the 80s and I think it weighed around 48 ounces so you might have to counter balance your other hip so as to walk normal

Re: EDC knife

PawPaw thanks for the link to BladeHQ. I just ordered the Boker Kalashnikov 103 for $39.99. MSRP price is $69.99. Delivery time is 4 to 8 days from Utah. Looks to be a good quality knife for the price. It will replace my old EDC knife Kershaw Thistle i bought at a walmart some 5 years ago. This Ker...

Re: .357 Magnum Revolver recommendations

The Ruger SP101 .357 with a 4.2 inch barrel is a good revolver Ive shot 38s and .357 rounds through it and is very accurate.
