Re: 74+ year old in-laws wanting to get their LTC and new guns

Although I have never shot a Smith 642, I do have an LCR .38. It does have bit of recoil with .38 +P, and although the trigger seems OK, the short sight radius with the .1875" barrel makes accuracy a challenge. It seems the 642's double action trigger would not be kind to older folks' hands, so I'm...

Re: 74+ year old in-laws wanting to get their LTC and new guns

+1 for the Shield EZ. However, I strongly encourage you to take any prospective gun owner to a range that rents guns so they can shoot before they buy. My father, 86, really likes his S&W M&P M2.0 Compact 9mm 4inch. As does my son, 21. My youngest brother likes his Shield 9mm. My wife likes her Walt...

Re: LCR 9mm v. 38 Special snub

Using the SIG ammo, the 9mm LCR had an average velocity of about 1150 fps for a 125 gr. JHP. That's on the order of 300 fps more than the 38 Special! That makes the 9mm LCR an attractive BUG. However, I remembered the video Paul did comparing 38 Special and .357 Mag. snub guns and the difference in...

Needing continued prayers for my daughter and family. She has completed 22 weeks of chemotherapy and now she goes in for a mastectomy on Monday and then, if all is well with this surgery, she will go back on November 1st for reconstructive surgery.
Praying and agreeing.

Re: CONCEALED CARRY IWB HOLTERS

So since I'm so new to this, would it be better to go outside the waistband and wear larger shirts or is it better to go inside the waistband and get bigger pants? Is it really necessary to get larger pants if I carry IWB? Welcome to carrying. You will find that, in general, holsters are like shoes...
