Re: New 6.8 mm Round a Game-Changer for Ground Troops

The articles never mentioned the case just the 6.8mm projectile. Something along the lines of a 277 Wolverine would only require a new barrel if upgrading current M4's. Something similar to that would make the most sense, but we are talking about the government so don't expect their decision to mak...

Re: Residential Security Door Suggestions?

Buy front doors that open outward, this prevents them being kicked in. Also use non removal hinge pins so the pins can’t be pulled from the outside unless the door is open. Use long screws to secure the door. You can get hinge pins which have a set screw on the inside. One of the simplistic ideas i...

Re: NC:5 minutes passed before 911 dispached police in fatal break in.

I had an 911 dispatcher in my LTC class once. I asked her, best case scenario, how long it takes for the call to come in, get all the details, and send the first dispatch out. She responded, 2 minutes. After that it is driving time to the scene and getting to the victim. Assuming the officer is a m...

Re: CA: Package containing Sarin poison mailed to Facebook headquarters.

The article says it showed positive once and negative once. My bet is that it is a false alarm. I was surprised to learn they have a machine that monitors for these things. I remember the security at Enron back in the day. Lunch time pizza delivery guys pizza box went through X-ray. But yeah how do...

Re: Teach me about buying suppressors

Mine is setup the same as yours. Just with my mother listed as primary beneficiary, as my daughter wasn't born yet. The lawyer I used was Mark Toronjo, and according to him it should follow the heirs down. So my daughter, to her kids, and on down until there aren't anymore. By all means talk to your...

Re: Teach me about buying suppressors

Used to a trust bypassed the need for a chief law enforcement sign off on you getting an NFA item. Huge bonus for those living where a sheriff and chief of police wouldn't sign. Also if I remember correctly didn't have to send fingerprints in for everyone on the trust. That changed a few years ago....

Re: TX: Let sleeping men lie

Personally, I would have called the cops and kept an eye on him from inside my house. I am not saying the home owner did the wrong thing. I am just saying what I would do in that circumstance. I also believe the home owner was within his legal rights to defend himself. My thing is what do I have to...

FWIW, this kind of ambivalence from ATF is one of the things that makes an SBR advantageous over a pistol with a brace.
Was the entire reason I did my sbr. People asked why do it when you can build a pistol with a brace. After this bump stock non-sense it made it even easier to point out why.

Re: Irresponsible dog owner

If you don't already have one, might I suggest a camera system for your house/property. It will of course help in case the dog attacks and you have to shoot. It will more importantly help you when the dog's owner decides to continue being a less than savory individual.

There's also a sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Haven't seen it yet so don't know if it measures up to the first one, but just make sure you watch the first one.
It does a respectable job, but not as good as the first one.

Re: TAM In The Hospital

WHEW! Found and clipped an ulcer. Discovered an unknown hiatal hernia. Have not slept for more than an hour or two straight since waking up Thursday morning, and I’m exhausted . Gonna try to sleep now. I spent 14 nights in the hospital last summer with Bacterial Meningitis. It's kinda' hard to get ...
