Re: What oil/lube do you use

This is always a fun topic.

These days I use Hoppe's No. 9 solvent or Hoppe's Elite as cleaners and Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil as a lubricant/protectant.
I really like the Lucas product--has a consistency somewhere between oil and grease--good stuff!

Re: Walmart has fallen!

I read Walmart's corporate statement posted previously where its president wrote that no more .223 rounds will be sold or 7.62 by 39 because, well, they can be used in "high capacity" magazines. How about the venerable .308...isn't it the ammo for the AR10 rifle that has a standard 20 round magazine...

Re: Man trespassed for life from ALL Walmarts for OCing a holstered handgun

A few questions: Which Wal-Mart did this happen at? What happened before the cell phone video started recording? Does the Wal-Mart manager "have an attitude?" Why should the guy sign anything? Observations: When cops get a trespass call at a business this is how they handle it. If you do not leave y...

Re: Dicks testing stores with No Guns

The president of Dick's Sporting Goods is a woman--Lauren Hobart. She graduated from the Stanford Business School.
I will venture a guess she is an ultra-liberal who voted for Hillary.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2018/06/18/armed-civilian-kills-gunman-stops-shooting-spree-at-tumwater-wash-walmart/ Y’all remember this! I had forgotten. Really puts Texas Walmart shoppers to shame. Walmart ever release the surveillance video of that incident--both inside the s...

Re: NC: Armed customer shoots two robbers, kills one, wounds other

Well, at least the 7-11 clerk was probably not armed. That corporation fires employees if they know they take a gun to work to defend themselves.
The robbers may have known that too--but they did not count on a customer being armed.

Re: Help identifying rattler!!

My grandpa used to keep a fruit-jar full of rattles. He showed me how to "snap" the rattles off the body of the snake. Do NOT try that or pick up a rattler you think is dead without first totally removing the rattler's head from the body. I keep an old garden hoe in the back of my pickup for just su...

Re: Sen. Graham announces red flag legislation

The link says it is a "federal grant program" to encourage states to adopt red flag laws--not a "federal red flag statute" like some states already have. A federal red flag statute would of course be a nightmare to enforce even setting aside its questionable constitutionality. They would need many m...

Re: El Paso Walmart Shooting

I am 66 years old--a child of the fifties and sixties. As children we loved to play war games with other neighborhood kids including toy guns of all varieties. We enjoyed our glorious fake deaths just like we saw in the movies. Our parents did not stop us and thought it was entirely normal. To my kn...

As a footnote to this case it is illegal to carry in a post office parking lot under federal law.

Re: Officer shoots carjacker dead in Harris county

I doubt any charges will be filed against the deputy in this case. The article says the thug was "brandishing a gun" and beating the dog while fleeing first in a vehicle then on foot and a suspect in a previous carjacking while pulling a gun and causing injury to the owner. Do we know how far away t...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

Hope somebody can get to the bottom of all this. Looks to me like the City of Houston has "lawyered up" and "gone to ground" so good luck getting anything from them unless the courts get involved.
