While I know it is a good idea to carry you LTC at all times, especially if you are carrying, but is it the law? I have managed to get miles down the road to realize I don’t have my wallet and I panic because I am always carrying. I have a photo of it on my phone, but is that enough?

IANAL but I think ammo in any form, even those dreaded assault magazines shouldn't be prohibited or even given a second glance unless you walk through a metal detector to some sort of secure location - and even then they may not do more then raise an eyebrow.

Can you still wear your magazine?

To clarify, say you go in a place that does not allow firearms so you put the gun in a car safe. Can you keep your extra loaded magazine in its holder on your belt?

The site used to give a really nice status (picture below). It would be nice if they improved upon that instead of getting rid of it.

Darn - I guess I'll continue my neurotic ways. And now I have to add weekends to my routine!

Does anyone know if the web site updates all day long or just once a day? In other words, if I check in the morning and do not see the joyful "Change address" option, is it worth checking later that same day or just wait until tomorrow?

Does anyone know if you can email or upload the certified search results or does it need to be snail mailed?

If you don't mind sharing, what did you provide to DPS in regards to the arrest?

I had an arrest in 1999 (no charges filed), but the arresting state/county does NOT provide certified copies of the disposition. I am afraid this will really slow me down and/or get me denied.

I am somewhat surprised DPS doesn't have a fee to expedite your application to the front - they would make boat loads.

They could not do that because they would have to dedicate resources to a quicker turnaround time on those who pay for an expedited application. As soon as you hit a point where ...
