Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

Last time I checked with the TX Dept of Wildlife, statewide, the minimum is 5 acres with counties having the ability to raise the minimum. For instance, here in Brown Co. the requirement is 10 Acres. When in doubt, ask a Game Warden! ;-) I'm unable to find the law that says that. Are you able to so...

Re: .357 Magnum Revolver recommendations

If you can find a Smith and Wesson Model 28 or 28-2 grab it. I have thousands of rounds fired through my 28 that I bought in the late 70's.

Re: How High to Place a Demand Feeder?

Pigs can’traise their heads very high. I think 36 inches or so would be adequate. anygunanywhere, "Great minds run in the same channels," or something like that--that's about what I was thinking. It take a pretty big pig to go 36" at the shoulder and, as you say, they can't raise their heads very h...

police say they can not confirm if he intervened....
So they don't have it on video, and since a cop didn't see it they cannot confirm. But one article said "multiple witnesses" saw someone confront the shooter. If you are not on the government payroll....

Re: This is How Custer Must Have Felt

I have not hunted hogs yet, but have considered this scenario often if I ever get to. I'm considering climbing the tree before the first shot and then waiting out the insanity of the scrambling and any charging that might ensue. How do some of you experienced hog hunters think something like that m...

Re: This is How Custer Must Have Felt

I kill a lot of hogs. 75+ every year and all of those on my own property. I've only had two charge me after being shot. Both were big boars, and they seemed to know that I was the cause of their pain. Anyway, neither of them made it to me but one got within about 20 yards before I managed to p...

Wells Fargo may be gun friendly, but I don't like the way they do business. Apparently, neither does the government. https://www.foxbusiness.com/features/wells-fargo-hit-with-2-billion-fine-over-faulty-mortgages I bank local and stay away from the national chains. They know me when I walk in the doo...

Re: Home Carry?

Unless I'm in the shower, or the bed, or for some other reason not dressed, I'm carrying. Even then there is always a gun within 20 feet or so. They all have one in the pipe too.

I'm sitting in my recliner right now with my laptop, and a .45 is on my side.

Re: 1911 Bug bites again. Which one?

I have a Colt 1991A1 stainless that has never jammed, ate all kinds of ammo, and shoots as true as I am capable of shooting. I can't swear when it was made (should look it up) but I think around 2008. I trust it as much or more as any sidearm I own.

Re: 1st Saturday LTC breakfast: Terrell/Tyler/East Texas friends.

This Saturday is the National Holiday of Texas. Opening day of deer season (at least for gun season). That's probably why very few are responding.
