Re: Only in Massachusetts

Knowing possession of ammunition by someone prohibited from owning a gun is prohibited in MA by this statute . I couldn't find anything stating that simple possession by a non-prohibited person is a chargeable offense. I read their law as no one could possess any ammunition without their firearm ow...

Only in Massachusetts

I didn't see an MA thread. My friend sent me this one. Ex-Brockton mayoral candidate arrested after 1 bullet found in his car: https://www.enterprisenews.com/story/news/crime/2020/11/12/jimmy-pereira-arrested-after-single-bullet-found-in-vehicle/6262676002/ Could you imagine a license requirement to...

Re: Open carry to protest the election

While I feel the underlying sentiment of this post, I think you carry a gun in a pronounced manner in a protest for only two reasons: 1) if you are protesting some kind of gun-specific issue, e.g 2A or other related topic in a circumstance that makes sense (which even then I probably wouldn't). 2) ...

Re: "School Sponsored" scope....

I can think of a more ridiculous example of this ambiguity. I have an office in downtown Dallas. Suppose I am carrying during my workday. Toward the end of the day, a school has a function 15 floors above in the sky lobby (e.g. a dance, concert, etc.). Would the premises be the whole skyscraper? If ...

Re: Scotus question?

Because of the arcane notion that you need to have hearings. I say arcane because information used to be much harder to come by. The reason for them now is just to make elected officials feel important.

If I were in the senate, especially after watching the last set of hearings, I would pass.

Re: November 4th... What are your preparations

My first preparation is to live in Texas where there are plenty of good guys (and gals). It's no fluke that our cities are not on fire. This is a good reminder to buy more ammo. My normal "preparation" supply is due for replenishment. I always have food/ammo/etc. Like many of us, I am a prepared kin...

Re: Big win in CA - "High capacity mags" case (Duncan et al)

It reads to my layman’s eyes to be a panel of three. 2 DUNCAN V. BECERRA Before: Consuelo M. Callahan and Kenneth K. Lee, Circuit Judges, and Barbara M. G. Lynn,* District Judge. Opinion by Judge Lee; Dissent by Judge Lynn Wait a minute...Judge Lynn is from Dallas. So a Texas judge sitting in desig...

Re: 22 caliber qualification

Thanks for this post. My wife finally is coming around to LTC, but she only likes shooting her .22 (after an interesting encounter to discuss another day). I had told her that she would have to use something different...this will help move her along. If someone doesn't feel comfortable shooting som...

Re: Is my wife really right? Say it ain't so...please

What Montgomery said. Go with them to the park, and don't just sit on a park bench with your face in your phone like 99% of parents I see in the park. Learning your surroundings and situational awareness can be fun. Ask your child questions. The man we saw walking up...what did he have in his hands...

Re: Is my wife really right? Say it ain't so...please

"Is my wife really right?" Of course she is...my wife told me so. :biggrinjester: Happy wife, happy life. I agree with others who say use the time as awareness training with your son. The benefits to him are obvious, but you may also observe things you'd been missing about the park. It's so true. W...

Re: Is my wife really right? Say it ain't so...please

1. The El Paso shooter drove over 600 miles to select the El Paso Walmart he targeted. 2. and 3. If these are true about your locale you might think about moving to a safer place. And yes, she's right. You don't say how old your son is, but ability doesn't always accompany size. Get off your duff a...
