The article only says the officers saved lives by rendering first aide to victims. Not by engaging the shooter. And it doesn’t confirm if they even were armed.

Also just to be fair, the McDonalds case wasn't frivolous. McDonalds was holding their coffee at 190F - hot enough to cause third degree burns in 3 seconds if spilled. They had been warned multiple times that it was too hot and didn't do anything to change their policies. The lady got third degree ...

I remember seeing a documentary on this family. They have been bumping heads with the cartel for many years. They very well knew the risks and everyone was heavily armed. The government there lets its population defend itself and doesn’t help. The cartel takes care of its people and towns it operate...
