Re: Austin Nov 4th-REAL OR FAKE?
It is real, LEO's in Dallas will be on high alert. I would suggest you OC folks keep your weapons concealed until we see how this shakes out. I will be carrying extra mags on Saturday which I normally never do. Just better to have and not need than need and not have.

Re: Leaving gun in car?
Keep it simple, pop the trunk, throw in it and be done with it. If it is an SUV, keep an emergency blanket in the very back and stick it in the blanket. When I go to the VA hospital ( A lot) that is what I do and I have never had any issues,......Hope the info helps.

Re: KHOU - 17 states call on Congress to abandon concealed carry gun law
No, I am not suggesting a compromise. I was just saying I don't think Congress will include a non license state. I expect the bill would read something like " Anyone with a valid LICENSE to possess a handgun ......" One State that comes to mind is Arizona. You don't NEED a license to carry there ...

Re: Really Ticked Off
Here is why this is such a big deal for DPS. THE BRADY BILL . Keep in mind that those with a Texas LTC do not go through the FBI background check when buying a gun anyplace in Texas..... This is pretty cut and dry. IF the OP can walk into a gun store tomorrow, PASS the FBI background check and ...

Re: KHOU - 17 states call on Congress to abandon concealed carry gun law
The Democratic attorney generals argue that concealed-carry reciprocity would empower gun traffickers, terrorists and other criminals. And they say it would help criminals avoid permit requirements altogether should they assert residence in one of the 12 states that allow gun owners to carry a ...

Re: Help! Places Weapons Prohibited
It is not clear if the OP was arrested or not so I can;t speak about a State charges of UCW. There is a 99% chance, on the FEDERAL level that you are going to get a nasty letter in the mail saying you will need to pay a CIVIL FINE of about $3000.00..A Dallas officer I worked with before I retired ...

If you want to have a serious, intelligent conversation/debate, we can do that, but this ban the finger stuff is just ridiculous talk.

Re: John Cornyn of Texas is focused on bump-stocks
Have you ever been on the receiving end of full auto ? I have, and even with a bump stock rate of fire, it isn't fun, and hard to defend against with any semi auto. If you want to use fully auto, then you should pay for a psych exam and your background, plain and simple. There is no practical reason ...

Re: John Cornyn of Texas is focused on bump-stocks
I hope they do ban the bump stocks and anything else that increases rate of fire. I also would like to see the GCA repealed so full auto could be purchased IF a tax stamp was paid along with a full background check, including a psych test. Some of you might think it harsh, but I believe before ...

PRE PAID LEGAL
This is an interesting subject. During my LTC course, some guy came in and gave a sales pitch on pre paid legal service for LTC holders. I didn't sign up however many in the class did. It did however get me to thinking about coverage. I had free legal from the Govt for any shooting situations before ...

Welcome to both of you. There is lots of great info on this forum.
As a suggestion I make to most of those in waiting, wear your EDC around the house every chance you get. See what works and what doesn't work for you. Get comfortable with the extra weight. Most of all, get a good GUN belt and ...
