Re: Spanish Flu didn’t start in Spain

I agree. The millennial generation and younger have a much poorer standard of education. Despite that, I did learn about the Spanish flu and its history during my middle school education in the 90s. I also learned about the true worldwide death tolls in WW2. I also learned other things like diagramm...

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19)( SARS-CoV-2) from China: Its going to be bad.

I found this article on why we should not be trying to flatten the curve. Interesting read. https://www.pensford.com/why-flattening-the-curve-is-overrated/?fbclid=IwAR1pSYGaLMuJKxlcb7YS1hO8rNnYtqJd5kDjlVEHhCb8QsitUrS7gYJ6fPE Good article. I feel the same way. Likewise. It's an incredibly unpopular ...

WTS/WTT: Winchester Small Rifle Primers

I have 4000 Winchester small rifle primers. I bought a bunch a while ago thinking I as going to reload 5.56, 6.8, etc, but I never got around to it. Asking $100 for the lot. I am also willing to trade for large pistol or large rifle primers. CCI preferred, but I'm not married to it.

Re: Why not a card/tie-in to buy gun in Texas?

That is one of the reasons I recommend all people who don't need an LTC to carry to get one anyway. I heard about this one FBI agent who would always have to wait for the Brady date to pick up his purchase due to his background check. It wouldn't be a problem if he had an LTC.

Re: Coronapocalypse Projects & Pastimes

I have a lot of scrap wood, and I will be building some little things for better storage and organization. I'll also be doing some more reloading. And work a bit on my photography hobby. OK that last one is very not firearms related. Hopefully I don't get too stir crazy.

With the weather being the deciding factor, I'm going to have to pass.

NICS website is down as of about 5PM today (https://www.cjis.gov/nics/PRServletSSO). I guess they got overloaded with all the panic gun buying? Thank goodness for LTCs.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Actually, I'm not too sure about outside activities. Cool to some may be cold to others. It'll most likely be in the high 40s, low 50s in the AM with rain still on the horizon. I'd personally rather be inside for that kind of weather.

That sounds pretty tempting, actually. I also would like to get some range time this weekend or upcoming week. Anyone up for that?

Re: Run on Ammo

I've noticed it myself too. I was at the local Academy yesterday, and most of the range ammo shelves were barren. Self defense ammo was about 50% stocked. Prices for ammo have also increased there a bit since the last time I checked. It's entertaining to watch the masses go crazy and start hoarding ...

Re: Help me learn more about armor

It sounds like Level 3A is perfect for the threat level you're facing (negligent discharge of pistol caliber handguns). I would personally go for something from Safe Life Defense. They are reasonably priced, and come in different flavors. You're best off with a vanilla vest. You need not have stab/s...

OK, I can gift it to her mother, her mother can gift it to her. Her mother is in Texas, do we need to go through an FFL? You can gift it / sell it to her mother assuming she's not a prohibited person. Once she takes possession, she'll need to send it to a CA FFL per federal law. Here's a website th...

Re: Transferring A Weapon To Someone in California.

on a FB womens gun group there was a discussion about this, and the way I understood this, and I could have understood it completely wrong, but the way I understood it, if you gift a gun to someone in CA, it can be off list. I will admit, I didn't understand the conversation completely since I have...

Re: Transferring A Weapon To Someone in California.

Thanks, I found it odd that my old Ruger P95, used to be on the list but it isn't on their newer list of approved. I suppose I could send her my Beretta p92fs which is still on the list. Suddenly a known safe gun, is now unsafe? The manufacturers need to renew the entries on the list annually. If t...
