Re: Galveston homeowners may lose their homes to the state

That is just wrong. If the state is going to condemn property, they need to pay market value for the homes, plain and simple. It is just wrong to up and take somebodies property and possessions for "the good of the people." Are we communist now? Their market value is probably a lot less than it was...

Re: Angelina County

Longtooth, I live about 50 miles west of you in Lovelady in Houston County. The storm went just east of us. We were fortunate and lost only one small tree and a little bit of tin on our barn. I drove around Crockett Saturday evening, and it looked pretty similar to the pictures you posted. We got po...

Big Trouble in Little China Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it." V for Vendetta People ...

John Ch.8
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Re: Why is race indicated on criminal related posts?

Read the newspaper, it is rarely ever mentioned. When you dig deeper you do find a trend in certain areas of town, not being racist, simple facts. Reporters go out of their way to not mention race and especially ignore it if they are illegals. I have noticed the same thing, especially when the crim...

Re: Dog shot in city park

Don't forget that "poodle" isn't just the 10-lb ball of fluff, but also includes the Standard Poodle which is similar in size to a collie or shepherd. While the standard is less well-known than the mini, toy or tea-cup, they are still fairly common. I was referring to the 10-lb balls of fluff. I fe...

Re: Dog shot in city park

I googled "poodle attacks" and came up with 632000 hits. I say we shoot threatening poodles too!! Also, I googled "goose attack" and it came back with 2,050,000 results, so it appears as though geese are more dangerous than pit pulls. Next goose that starts eyeing me down is gonna have lead chasing...

Re: Dog shot in city park

I am sorry to break it to all of you dog lovers but many of us have very good reason to suspect your pit bull is a dangerous animal regardless of your rosy view of its history. So if you don't want to be burying your pit bull then you had better keep it solidly chained, on a leash, and under absolu...

Re: J Horn is acquitted of wrongdoing.

Joe Horn was nobilled by the grand jury, Dusty, not "acquitted." He is "innocent," as he has been presumed all along, since he has not been convicted of anything, but, again, he has not been acquitted. A grand jury has no power to acquit someone. I don't mean to be nitpicking, Dusty, but a statemen...

Re: Close call with bangers this AM. (Wreck)

Was contacted by the other vehicles insurance providor this afternoon. Sounds like they will cover and keep me from paying the $1 grand deductible. That's good news on the insurance. My first impression after reading your post, was that the car would be uninsured. I am glad you are safe. Also nice ...

Re: First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded

I think there was something else going on that you were not aware of. State troopers normally aren't going to pull anyone over for doing 65 in a 6o. And they don't normally disarm CHLs.. Maybe there was a robbery near by involving a simular auto. :iagree: I have been stopped twice in the last five ...
