puma guy,
Thanks for your input. I'm thinking more and more about the .308.

New Deer and Long-Range Rifle
I'm looking for a new deer rifle with which I'll also do some long-range target shooting (at least 500, maybe 1000 yards). I've decided on a Savage, either the Tactical 110 or the new Impulse. What I'm concerned about now is which caliber: 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester? What concerns me most is a...

Recommendations for a Locking Pistol Box
Can anybody recommend a good locking pistol box? I'd like one that has biometric (fingerprint) opening. I'd like one big enough to hold two compact semi-automatics.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Biden Signs Gun Control Bill Into Law
The specific measures in this bill do not concern me nearly so much as does "the camel getting his nose into the tent." If the anti-2A people can get this, what will they try for next time?

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I was stationed (with the USAF) for four years in Saudi Arabia and a lot of the people I worked with rode dirt bikes out in the sand dunes on the weekends. I thought I would give it a try--trouble was, I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life. Anyway, I bought a Yamaha Enduro, when out on the dune...

Re: Recommended EDC for 70+yo and 120lbs person?
I'm another one who would recommend a S&W .380 EZ. I had one and racking, loading the mag, etc., were no problem even though I'm 80 years old. Crash P.S. I've since bought the 9mm version and manipulating the slide, loading the magazine, while requiring a little bit more force, really aren't tha...

Re: Hard To Load 13 rounds in Shield Plus 13-round mag
Same problem with the SIG 365 magazine. But to answer your question, yes. Load it up and let it sit for a few weeks. Also make sure you function check your fully loaded gun. Sometimes these can put too much pressure on the mechanics and the next round won’t load properly. I’ve heard of guys who jus...

Re: Hard To Load 13 rounds in Shield Plus 13-round mag
Yes. I emailed S&W customer service and they gave me an address to send the mags back to them. I sent 4 mags in along (at my cost) with a copy of the email. in about 2 weeks I got 4 mags back. I don't know if they are the same mags with new internals or new mags. They are stiff to get 13 rds in...

Hard To Load 13 rounds in Shield Plus 13-round mag
Anybody else having trouble loading the 13th round into the 9mm Shield Plus 13-round mag? Not only is it hard to get that last round in, it's also really hard to insert the mag into the grip and ejecting the fully loaded 13-round mag is difficult as well. I've read that S&W tech support says loa...

Slide Retraction Effort on a Walther CCP 9MM M2
Does anybody know what the slide retraction effort is on a Walther CCP 9MM M2? Walther advertises it as being easy to retract, but it doesn't seem any easier than recoil-operated compact 9mm pistols to me.
Thanks in advance for any input,

Lynyrd,
Since yours is the only response I've received, I guess there aren't too many folks in need of what I have.
Oh well, never hurts to try.
Thanks for resonding.

Re: Which Pistol-Caliber Lever-Action is Most Durable/Reliable
Henry in either 357 or 44mag. If you want the most durable version get the all weather. It’s rust proof and has a treated stock so it won’t ever rot. cmgee67, Thanks for the recommendation. If I buy another pistol-caliber lever-action, it will probably be a Henry in .357 mag with the shorter barrel...

Re: Which Pistol-Caliber Lever-Action is Most Durable/Reliable
About 20 years ago, I had a Winchester Trapper (model 94 with a 16 inch barrel) in 44 magnum. I used it as a patrol rifle in Luling. I did not think I would need a rifle against people but was concerned that my pistol would not work from a distance to dispatch an injured horse or cow. Never had to ...
