1. I used to get annoyed at bad drivers on the road. I amazed myself at how much I calmed down once I started carrying.
2. The story illustrates one more time that the first person to call the police is generally considered to be the ‘victim’.

Re: Tired of Cornyn?
I saw a news headline this morning indicating that Ken and Angela Paxton may have committed real estate fraud. This link from July says much the same thing. It seems they may have listed 3 different homes as their primary residence.

Re: Today in Trump's 2nd term as President
I'm very much a fan of Rep. Clyde, and very much of 2 minds on the 'win' in the OBBB. I absolutely want to see the NFA gutted, but I can see that a $0 tax/registration is wide open for court challenges. If only I had confidence that SCOTUS would actually accept a case like that when/if it reaches ...

Re: TX looking to remove restrictions on short barrel guns
It would remove short-barreled rifles and short-barreled shotguns from the list of prohibited weapons in Texas, but those items would still be regulated under the NFA. It's probably very similar to the law a few years ago that tried to say that suppressors made in Texas, and that never left Texas ...

Re: New Texas Speaker of the House
There was a lot of hair pulling between Burrows and Rep. David Cook. Cook was selected by the Republican Caucus, and the caucus said that the Speaker should only be chosen ONLY by the party in power*. Burrows cobbled together a coalition from both parties, and was able to get a majority of the ...

Re: Today in Trump's 1st term as President
I hope and pray that if we on the right manage to obtain all 3 branches of government in 2024 that the Republicans burn the democrat house to the ground and scatter the ashes to the 4 corners.
Democrats are perfecting their ability to win elections. I'm going to vote, but my confidence is not ...

Re: Uvalde School shooting
The early reports say that there were ORDERS not to go in the school. Someone gave those orders. For them to be followed it had to be the person in charge . Standard procedure is not to wait, but go in immediately. That did not happen because someone in authority gave the order.
Not that I ...

Re: Uvalde School shooting
Cornyn eyes adding juvenile records to gun buyer database instead of raising the age to purchase an AR-15.

If it's done in a way that doesn't dissuade kids from getting mental health help, it could be a good idea.
I know lots of kids that benefited from talking with a counselor ...
