*sigh* The library secretary just called me, she is really sweet. Anyway, she found out that the reason the sign is on the library is because of the adjoining courthouse. I mentioned what the statute says about "premises" but she said that the director had done lots of research with some lawyer with the NRA, and was told he had to put it up. She did correct one error, though, all the other signs on the city buildings have been removed. I may not go any further with this, because she told me that the library is moving this month, the 19th, into their own building, and I was assured that there would be no sign on that building. So, it almost seems like a mute point, since they are moving.
The really funny thing is, after she got off the phone with me earlier, a man came into the library looking for the municipal court to pay a ticket. While he was there, he demanded to speak to somebody about the exact same sign outside.

She asked if he was related to me, and he just looked at her funny and said, "uh, nooo." So I thought that was really funny, and she thought that was really ironic. She's worked there for years, and today two people ask about the sign for the first time ever. The really good news, is she and her husband are going to get their CHLs!
