Re: Off The Beaten Dripping Springs, TX

Born and raised there. Went back a few years ago for a visit and get-together. Definitely not what it was. Property I grew up running around on is now all chopped up into gated sub-divisions and 'ranchettes'. The one saving grace that I saw was the old domino hall. Spent many hours there with my Gra...

Re: What Would Be The BEST 30-30 Lever Rifle

Joining in a bit late to this, but as to what is "best" is relative. Just as in vehicles. There use to be huge gaps in quality and durability. Manufacturing has pretty well evened the playing field. Find one you like, shoulders well, etc. and go forth and enjoy. Personally, I'm partial to Marlin bec...

Re: Priorities for 2019 legislative session

"The bill I have written 1) creates unlicensed-carry; 2) moves all of TPC §46.035 to §46.03; and 3) exempts LTC's from §46.03. The benefit of this approach is that it creates so-called constitutional carry while preserving a big incentive to get an LTC. The Legislature does not like unlicensed-carr...

Charles, I guess one day I'll have to upgrade to Extra. Just always told myself I wasn't going to do it till I could do the 20 WPM, even though its not required anymore.

Re: Campus Carry Question

Boxerrider, True that. Lots of room for cleanup. A thought crossed my mind on this: With it delayed implementation on junior colleges till 2017, it may get cleaned up before it even takes effect...well almost anyway. A lot of the legislative output takes effect on 9/1. Most semesters start a week or...

Re: Campus Carry Question

I strongly suspect that the TCCTA (Texas Community College Teachers Assoc.) had the Junior colleges thrown under the bus so to speak on this. As a whole, they are notoriously anti-gun. The 'issue' of HS students on campus is due to dual credit courses. Courses that the student elects to take, not co...

This is all good as a whole. We may not have gotten the big prize, but we got a good start. I think it will be easier to modify and improve it in subsequent sessions.

Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15

As of now, the only words I have are the ones which are not permissible on the forum. I have never seen more rank stupidity and childish foolishness from a bunch of purported elected people. Time (evidently long past) to physically jerk a halfhitch in their collective posteriors.

I wonder if these 'opt out' sponsors would go for local option to opt out of paying state tax on goods & services?
Geeez.

Local control. Really? And how many other statutes should be done likewise? Or is it just the ones he doesn't like?
Geeez.
