Re: Pistol Caliber Carbine Roundup

I honesty don't know why people waste their time and money on PCCs.

Unless your range forbids shooting 5.56 Carbines (many indoor ranges allow them now), there is no advantage to them when a 5.56 with about three times the effective range is the same size as a PCC.

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?

I have had a lot of reliability issues with 1911s, plain ones and fancy ones. Those words have been uttered about every gun ever made, by one man or another. I've seen glocks and M&P's fail, even a couple of sig's and XD's. If you "have had a lot of reliability issues" with multiple 1911's, you are...

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?

I currently EDC with 9mm and .45 Shields and Mod 2 Subcompacts, not all at the same time, one at a time in rotation. I have been toying with the idea of getting a 1911. Some of you guys have many, and some of you EDC with them. Why do I need/want one? Why do you have one or more? If I do decide to ...

Re: New 6.8 mm Round a Game-Changer for Ground Troops

The easiest solution is to issue Mk262 to everybody. No new barrels, bolts, or magazines.

Re: TX: Dallas man goes back to bed after shooting burglar.

Truthfully I think he should have called cops at the moment he saw someone fiddling with his shed lock & stayed in the house. Having a weapon is no reason to get out of the house & confront. I’ve heard of courage in a bottle but there is also courage in a barrel. Shoot over what? A lawn mower? A ca...

Re: Stop The Bleed - free medical training

I attempted to sign up for one in Flower Mound a few months back...called the contact number twice and left a message for the RN conducting the class to call and advise me if I was signed up for it...crickets.

I will find another place to train.

I have seen a whole. lot. worse. You are doing it right by focusing on marksmanship first. Speed will come with practice.

What makes this a "Level III" Qualification?

Re: Need to clean really tarnished brass?

My preferred potion is 20/40 corn cob blasting grit from Grainger and NuFinish Car Polish. I have bought several cases of NuFinish over the past 30 years and have never used it for polishing a car :coolgleamA: All of it got mixed with corn cob or walnut. I use the walnut for the really grungy brass....

I have had the exact same experience.

I am a Magpul fanboy, I really like their stuff, but I also will be sticking with Factory Glock Magazines.

My Magpul AR Magazines have had no issues. None.

Re: What do you use to monitor safe humidity?

I run a goldenrod in the safe and use a household type dehumidifier in the room the safe is in. Rarely gets above 30-35%. I run a humidifier in the house all day and it rarely gets above 30-35%. Y'all just need to move up here to the high plains. Your humidity issues will be solved. Humidifier, AKA...
