A modified "Wally Walk"
Well, i spent the morning figuring out which shirts would work, then placed my Glock 30 .45 acp in its' Galco holster, and noted that the handle pooched out a bit to obvious. Not wanting to admit defeat, I tried it with the gun handle forward, and whalla. No more of a bulge than my PPC-6800 phone in ...

Re: Let's hear some updates!
I got the plastic TODAY!!!!! 24 day to get my PIN form DPS getting my appication. 70 total days until "Application complete...Issued or active...". 74 days total for plastic in hand. Used regular USPS, sent a cashiers check with the application, and had NO bumps along the way.

Re: 87 days
Got mine today to.
74 days. What would be the general opinion of a "Cynthia Woods Pavillion - Roger Waters" wally walk? Las I heard, you could carry there, but not sure now.

Re: License Received Today
I got mine today. Same anti-climactic packaging. 70 days to change in status, and 74 for plastic. Not gonna hear me whining about nothing now. Can't think of a tougher or more excruciating wait. I figure mine did not hit any "bumps" along the way.

Re: We MUST band together! This system is BROKE!
I am just curious here with my question. Of those who are waiting on either a PIN or or a meaningful change in status and their was NO problems with any part of the application, who sent a "cashiers check" with their application versus other accepted fund types?

Re: Is it time to call/email?
There is no such thing as Karma. If you are nice and it gets done quickly, then it's Karma, if you are real nice and it takes 5 months, then they are just real busy. I guess it'll get done when it gets done, I've got a nice cushion.
This might be why 56 days and NO PIN. Thinks positive despite ...

Re: Wild Hog Hunt (no photo, just questions)
Your scoped AR with 75-77gr 223 or 7.62x39 100+gr round in a straight on between the eyes or behind the ear shot would be ideal from a meat conservation standpoint if less than 100yds. They are pretty much drop'm where they stand shots. The size hogs we have on my parents ranch (500+/-) south of ...

Re: Is it time to call/email?
Well, I sent an email to the DPS as I was approaching my 60th day. I commended them on the job they were doing, being totally humble with respect, complementing them to the point of being mushy. The next day I got a simple 2 line email saying that I was still being processed, thanks for my patience ...

Thanks, for the memories
Bob Hope & Texaco. What a combo. Anyway, I checked my status for the 38th time today, and whaddyaknow. After 70 days from the DPS getting my application, and 45 days since my PIN was issued, I got this message: ""Application completed - License issued or certificate active". :woohoo

Re: Let's hear some updates!
I think the guys and gals at the CHL office in Austin work like any office. You have your group of "do the minimum to stay out of trouble", and you have your "above and beyond the call of duty" people. I am starting to think this is what is happenening to all of us based on the review of posts ...

Re: 60 Days from WHEN? 90 Days or WHAT?
Well, I see from the posts that the DPS has 30 days to assign an agent, and another 60 days to process it. Add another 30 days if no visible action on their part. This makes 120 days. After that your out of luck. I am 61 days from their getting the application. The assigned me a PIN after 27 days ...

60 Days from WHEN? 90 Days or WHAT?
The DPS got my application 2/12 (60 days ago), and I have had my PIN 32 days (3/10). I have read a few different time frame scenerio's. Just when does the timer start? How long from what moment does the timer start. I am getting bummed at the wait.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
I am glad I am not the only one here feeling as if the clock slowed WAAAAAYYY down when I mailed my application. And yes, I do have to resist the very big urge not to check my status on the hour. Guilty as charged on that one, but in my busy practice, what else have I got to clear my mind between ...

Which businesses do not prohibit concealed carry in Texas?
I live in Houston area (The Woodlands specifically). I do not want to spend money in stores which prohibit my right to carry concealed legally. Which ones are they?
