If an American has never owned a 1911, they're a Commie and shouldn't be trusted ;-) :patriot:

Beauties! Nothing better than a 1911 showing some honest wear!
Deb from SACS said their only recommendation is to re-Black T the whole pistol, but I personally love the look. :tiphat:

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?

I've carried these two for the last fifteen of so years and they are relatively trouble free. Between the two pistols the Loaded and Pro has around 30000 rounds through them for training, IDPA, and casual plinking. I've changed the recoil springs on my Loaded, but the Pro still has the original spri...

WTS Springfield Armory TGO2 $2100

Purchased in 2006. The TGO (Rob Leatham) 1911s comes in three grades. The TGO I is still being produced by the Springfield Armory Customer Shop. The TGO II is the equivalent of a TRP but in Rob Leatham's specifications. TGO II is discontinued. TGO III is the equivalent of a light weight Loaded in Ro...

WTS Nighthawk GRP Recon $2400

Build 2005, so the night sights will need to be replaced. I can send the pistol back to have new sights put on for an additional $300. I've put 150 rds through the pistol so there is plenty of life left. $2400 as is with LTC preferred. Pistol has the original permacote on it so this is the pre-ion b...

For me, the most comfortable position is 4:00-4:30. I also have a comp-tac twin mag carrier at my 8:00 position.

Re: My 1911 is in the stable!

Been shooting these guys since 2004. No tuning needed. 12-15K rounds between both pistols from classes, range sessions, and various IDPAs. :biggrinjester: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1466/25957074050_a7e0cde381_b.jpg I shoot Glocks, too. They are both as reliable. :coolgleamA: https://farm2.stati...

Re: Glock generation 4 and 5

Besides the obvious, internally, the locking block is different because of the 2 pin design. The takedown lever spring is now a coil spring instead of a leaf spring. The trigger group is also different with different trigger bar, trigger return spring, and firing pin block. The slide catch is also u...
