First off, I found this site while researching Texas CHL since I visit there yearly and am interested in carrying.
I looked at your State Fair website and the fair there looks awesome compared to ours here in Ohio. From reading it seems your fair uses a private security firm for at least part of ...

Re: With the State Fair of Texas coming soon.
If you plan to go with family and don't want your entrance seen, that's easy enough to orchestrate. Tell them you'll meet them at Big Tex or whatever other landmark inside the park at a particular time.
I recommend parking in the official lots and paying the extra money for them. The official ...

Think the only time the Cotton Bowl is off limits is if there is a Sporting Event of a School Event.

Re: With the State Fair of Texas coming soon.
Was planning on going with the family, but a few of them do not know I carry and would prefer to keep it that way.

With the State Fair of Texas coming soon.
Has anyone heard if the rules were changed from last year? Knew they were taking information down on CHL holders.

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
Is this not the same thing as profiling? If they are not collecting everyone's info when they enter the Fair how can they collect it from a CHL holder? What is next collecting information on Muslim's as they might be a terrorist. They should either collect everyone's information or no ones.

Re: Walkout at UT this Thursday
During an family lunch on Saturday, my sister-in-law told us that she was taking part in her first protest. The protest is a walkout at UT because of some legislature to allow carrying on college campuses. She expressed great concern over the thought of people bringing guns on campus. I can't ...

Saw a Gun Free Zone sign today at a School. Beside the picture it said permitted or non-permitted. I assume this is also not a valid sign.

Re: ID in the home...
If you are in your home and not expecting Police to show up why would it be required to ID your self? I know the law says, but does it not also say you can not be intoxicated. So you are in your home having a few drinks, Police show up. So they ask for your ID and you also hand them your CHL. They ...

Re: Guns and cruise ships
I carried booze onboard Carnival before. Just put it in my checked luggage and no issues. On NCL I put it in a plastic bottle and put it in my pocket and walked right on with it.

Re: August Applications
Your license must be with mine. I was told it was mailed on 10/16 and as of 11/5 still nothing.
I have moved since it was mailed, but still own the home and check mail there everyday.
So on 10/27 I went online and did a change of address and called yesterday 11/4 and was told the change of ...

Live in very small town and the Post Master is a friend of the family. Even if they had wrong address it would of still made it to me or even by now been sent back to DPS.

Re: May Applications
They are still tell me mine went out around the 16th and as of Nov. 1st still nothing. Last time I called they told me I had to wait 30 days before they would reissue. Just another lame excuse from the DPS office. I asked if the next one could be sent with a tracking number and was told they can not ...
