Re: DM Bullard holsters Azle, tx
Though I don't have the Combat holster, I can recommend his products based on their quality. I EDC his pocket holster and pocket mag holder for my Ruger LCP ( http://estore.websitepros.com/1565531/Detail.bok?no=430" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). He provides finely crafte...

Re: 5.11 Pants Trivia Question
It's a holdover from when they used to originally be mountain climber pants (Royal Robbins). You would hang your carabiners and other climbing hardware from it. I think now it is used as a nifty carry handle to pick Glock owners off the ground and carry them to the waiting ambulance after they shoot...

Re: The cuppards are bare
I spoke to the WM department manager today while he was ringing up my 300 rounds of .380 and he said that he orders and orders and orders but the warehouse just doesn't have anything to send. Says that 9mm is impossible to get. Luckily, they have 6 more boxes of .380 there for me to snatch up with m...

Re: Informal Tests: Hornady Critical Defense Ammo
I shot a full box of the .380 in my brand new Ruger LCP after warming up with 100 rounds of the cheap Winchester and Remington from Wallyworld. It fed fine with no problems and was extremely accurate and consistent. Recoil was similar to the other rounds I fired. It'll definitely be my carry ammo fo...

Re: DPS Processing Times
Got an e-mail reply from Rep Callegari's office saying that they contacted DPS on my behalf. DPS told them that Sen. Patrick's office had already spoken with them regarding the matter. Hope to see the magic words on the DPS website very soon! Many thanks to Rep. Callegari's and Sen. Patrick's staff!...

Re: Low Recoil Buckshot
I've tried the Winchester WinLite 00 Buck. There is a noticeable difference compared to the regular buckshot. It's what we use in my wife's home defense 870. We also keep a couple of the WinLite slugs in the buttstock ammo carrier in case of pit bulls. (We've had problems with them trying to come th...

Re: WTB Polish P64
I bought two P-64s a couple of weeks ago from MCS Firearms and they are wonderful shooters - basically brand-new 35 year old guns. Unfortunately, the supply has pretty much dried up now. I've only seen them in person locally at a gunshow and they were horribly overpriced. Better get one from J&G...

Re: Holster shopping on Saturday. Where's a good place to go?
Though not on the north side, Fountain Firearms has a good selection of various brands. They are at Hwy 6 and Bissonnet - that's about halfway between I-10 and US-59.

Blue box with steel case. Functions fine in my 59/66 SKS. Dirty, but cheap practice ammo!

Re: Will having an FFL speed background check?
My C&R license also took forever for them to process but it was worth the wait. I've saved a lot of $$$ on transfer fees. It's really nice how the man in the big brown truck brings me toys every month!

Will having an FFL speed background check?
Just wondering if having a FFL (Curio & Relic License in my case) would cause the background checks (and thus the wait for plastic) to go any faster? Having already been through the Federal background checks required for the C&R license, I'd hope that might speed things up. I can wish, can't...

Re: mosin nagant...what a bang for your buck!
The first time I took my M44 to the range (Hotwells) I was all nervous because even though I had checked the headspacing and gone over the gun to make sure it was safe, you never know. Well, I propped it up on the sand bags, settled in and held my head as far back from the action as I could (in case...

Re: mosin nagant...what a bang for your buck!
You got that right. Cheap thrills - I've got a half dozen of the M44s and 91/30s. They are a handful to shoot and can be quite accurate. Eventually you will run into difficulty opening the bolt due to the lacquer buildup (with lacquer coated steel cased ammo), but it's an easy fix. Check out 7.62x54...
