Driving to Florida for Xmas -- safest route?
I'll be driving with my family to Florida for the Christmas
and New Years holidays and was wondering:
1. Should I have any concerns about passing through the
New Orleans area, or would I be better off going through
Jackson MS. I.e.
Option A:

Re: Checking a firearm while flying
If you are flying out-of-state, make sure you know the firearms laws where you are going.

You bet. You won't have any problems on the way out, but you can easily get busted on the way back when you declare the gun(s) in some repressive jurisdiction where, for the time being, (meaning until ...

Re: Does That Really Work???
I'd be constantly checking to see if it was still there. I can't keep my shirt tail from riding up my back even when I have suspenders on! I'd end up leaving my weapon in someone's seat cushions for sure...
But maybe it works for you slim guys.

I think part of the problem with the shooting yesterday was that the SP101 was a rental and I had no idea about how well it has been maintained or cleaned. I do know that the extractor rod required quite a push to even get the shells out far enough for me to pull them out by hand.
