Chris covered it pretty well, the C&R is the way to go. Have had mine for going on 4 years now and have never regretted it. There are so many deals on military surplus C&R rifles out there it is silly.

In my opinion the "must have" rifles that are floating around at the moment are the Swiss K31 ...

OK, I know this is OT, but I was carrying my SIG P232 under the authority of my CHL, driving northbound to Dallas on IH-45 when I saw the two biggest cranes I have ever seen in my life about 6 miles north of Buffalo.

Hurricanes are only one potential disaster scenario in H-Town, so I pretty well stay at a "level orange" state of preparedness. Have 10 Gals of fuel and 60 Gals of water stored, and about a week of food. I have decided to either leave VERY early, or if that isn't possible hunker down.

This is one part that concerns me. I try not to have a rigid schedule outside my work schedule. If I feel like going to the grocery or Walmart or visit a friend on a whim, I do so. How do you guys work 30.06 places into your schedule? Do you leave your handgun in your car?
