Almost nothing about this story rings true. IMHO. It's not help they are keeping out it's looters and gawkers and others that have no legitimate reason to be there. As for picking up guns off the ground where houses used to be, well ...

You will not be allowed to bring a loaded weapon into the show. There will be a table at the entrance with several FW police officers. If you wish to bring in a gun for any reason you will have to allow them to check it and then secure it with plastic ties.

From what I saw this is clear cut. The (ex)cop was way out of line. He needs to be arrested and charged, then he needs to lose his job.

Would anyone feel comfortable with a guy like this on patrol in your town??

I know that you are required to put the physical address of your place of residence on your CHL, but can you then have a p.o. box as your primary mailing address???

Rep. Alma Allen felt that allowing CHL holders to keep their weapon in the car while at work would open the door to actually driving to work with the weapon in the car. :shock:
