Texas Drivers License DD number
Perhaps a little off-topic, but does anyone know what the long DD number means on the bottom of the new Texas drivers license?

.380 for Sister
This may have already been discussed. I am looking for a gun for my sister. We have homed in on a .380 after shooting everything from .22 to .40 cal. It just seems the most comfortable for her. She has been shooting a fair amount lately and might be able to handle a gun with a safety but I am ...

Re: Total Texas CHLs issued
Well, considering the adult population, i.e. 18 and older, the percentage increases a little to 2.5%. Still low.

Thanks Gents. Looks like 1.8% of the state population of 25,145,561. I wonder how we measure up with the other carry states?

The Squirrels are coming
Squirrels are showing up in our maturing oak trees. I've purchased some Aquila .22 Super Colibri ammo to eliminate some of the buggers. The ammo is primer only and subsonic, less than 600 fps. It measures to be Long, not Long Rifle. I intend to use the ammo in my Ruger Mark II pistol. Only unknown ...

Carrying concealed in someon's home
The thread re "Displaying at someone's home?" gave me a headache, but it raised a question for me: I can't find in the regs anything concerning carrying concealed in someone's home.

Gents,
Thanks for all the thoughtful replys. On reflection, I believe her fearful comment is the result of ignorance of guns and/or never having personally experienced crime. I believe this (by VMI77) sums it up: "If having (a CHL) one makes you a government target then we'll be well beyond the ...

How to respond?
When I told a close friend that I have a CHL, she responded: "My only thought about the CHL - the govt and the police know who and what to look for." My wife has expressed the same concern. Any ideas what my response should be?

Re: Gen 4 Glock 35 lawsuits?
Got to agree. No AD with a Glock--IMO it takes a careless finger on the trigger when hostering/unholstering the gun. Apparently this is called "Glock Leg" among our LEO. However, it doesn't preclude someone blaming Glock on his "Glock Leg."
