Re: Driving and Cell Phones/PDA's
I do not take the operation of a motor vehicle lightly. It is a very large object, moving with great inertia , requiring attention, preparation, and forethought, not something to be done absent mindedly while chatting/texting. Not that it really matters but inertia means the mass is at rest. What y...

Re: Houston: Kick-in burglars stopped by resident
I lived and worked in and around Houston for 16 years. I spent 15 years of that time looking for something somewhere else.
I did make it out in 94. Only go back now to visit.

Youthful exhuberance can, and does, overshadow common sense and propriety. My daughter was a little irritated when I showed up on prom night to meet the date on my Harley with my wife, both wearing leather vests. She said I intimidated her friend.......probably a good thing he couldn't see under th...

Re: No Warrant? No Exigent circumstances? No Problem
Where is the FBI when you need them? Investigating Arizona. Sorry, I forgot. Probably not a Federal criminal case so no FBI jurisdiction - unless the Justice Department would deem it a violation of civil rights (but the dude was not a minority) or he files a case in Federal Court for such a ...

Re: That infamous 287
Estelline has been notorious for that for at least 40 years. I think I remember my dad saying something about it in 63. I am pretty sure one of my uncles mentioned it in the 50's. They literally used to have the speed limit signs so close together that you had to hit the brakes solidly to slow down ...

Re: Stopped in a small home town
Personally, I never tell anyone. My family knows. I want the Scum Suckers to wonder and not know. Then when it is necessary, I want them to freeze for that vital second because of their surprise. Take every advantage you can get.

Anytime you are dealing with LEO's keep all answers short and to the point. Do not volunteer information under most circumstances, the exceptions being when reporting a crime against you or your family.

Re: Never leave home without it.....
You were not committing a UCW crime, You do not need a CHL to carry in the car. Next time, ask the officer why you need to keep it in the trunk when TPC 46.02 Clearly states it is not a crime to carry one in a vehicle. The only 'crime' you committed was failing to give the officer your CHL, which h...

Re: pulled over, temporarily disarmed, was told I was lucky
I would like to see the look on his face when after pulling me over and making such a bald faced lie, I could point to the center rest in my PU and say " I wasn't racing, I wasn't even speeding and I can prove it". I always run with a gps program running that records time, location, speed,...

Re: Nearly used my weapon tonight.
Only one thing wrong. You let him get way too close with a weapon in his hand without firing. The second deputy was correct. Otherwise you did quite well and the outcome was very good.

Re: Hurst, TX opposes citizens right to Keep and bear arms
Speaking of malls, there have been numerous posts about the Grapevine Mills Mall in Grapevine, Tarrant County, TX. This mall is a 30.06 site. Someone said "I'll just shop at the Hurst mall." Well, now, we've got a political problem shopping at the Hurst Mall, if not a 30.06 problem. Actua...
