Re: Topographical maps

:iagree: I have a few, that I have had for a while. I keep one in my get home bag, showing the area, between where I work, and live. I used to carry two, due to distance. I need to get more, but like you I find them overpriced. Which to me makes little sense with satellite mapping technology, almos...

Re: Topographical maps

I love topo maps. In the days before cellphones and GPS, I used them frequently as I was an avid hiker/backpacker. Over the years, the ones I had went unused, and I don’t know if I eventually gave them to someone, or lost them in a move, or what. But lately, it’s been on my mind to buy some. I am m...

Re: Colt Delta Elite 10mm

I like 10mm in general and have a Glock29 in my rotation. When I picked up a Colt for my 40th several years back, I tried hard to find a Delta Elite but ended up with a Rail Gun. It's still on my wish list. Been carrying a Delta (Blued/Parkerized version) since 1999. Bought it in 1998. Used it to q...

Per the radio this morning, the shooter was Ex-military and had been to combat, seem to me this was suicide by law enforcment, considering he was trained in the use of a rifle and had experience, nobody else was hurt, seems to me he took the wrong path out of this world

Nearly 66 years old and still surprise people with my hearing. Not a lack thereof. Sniffer still works pretty well too. In spite of having been a smoker for 42 years.

Re: Wife Sick with Cancer.

Father, we ask that if you must take this lady, please do so without pain. Give comfort and grace to the family she will be leaving behind in this time of sorrow. We know you have a plan for each of us and that this is your will and so it will be done. I stand beside this family and friends in our ...

Re: Still waiting

Mine came back so fast that I didn't even get the website feedback before it was in my mail. Of course I had had a license in either Texas or Oklahoma continuously since 1999. A total of nearly 20 years, with a spotless record going all the way back. And DPS had already ran at least two backgrounds ...

Re: HB 3257 - Imitation firearm = firearm for criminal cases

I can understand enhancing penalties for brandishing an imitation firearm, but I have misgivings for making the penalties the same as for a real one. That it's an imitation indicates there's no intention to harm anyone, so it seems a less serious offense to me. Of course, brandishing an imitation f...

Re: Arlington convention center posted?

I’m sure it’s not as it’s a government owned facility. Going there for the reptile show today, is it okay to carry? It is owned by the City of Arlington. Per the Tarrant County Appraisal District. https://www.tad.org/property-search-results/ For the address of 1200 Ballpark Way. PAGE(S): 1 Account ...

Re: My Name is anygunanywhere....

Like others, I don't know about alcohol, but after 40+ years of smoking 4 & 5 packs a day, I quit in 07. I think this was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. But by the grace of God, I am now 12 years without a puff. However, I do still get an occasional urge but it soon passes. Just know t...

Re: Husband Saves Wife

There are pictures that show three holes in the rear windshield of the robbers' Caddy, but none of the articles I have read (and I just googled this) said the husband shot at the Caddy while it was "fleeing," or even that the robbers were inside the Caddy when the husband fired. The stories do say ...
