Re: School Shooting in Chardon, Ohio
One article I read (sorry don't remember which one) praised the sheriff's department for their rapid response.
While I don't wish to take away from our first responders, I very much apprecitate them, it was over by the time they got there.
The kid was chased out by a teacher (a first responder ...

Re: Best BBQ Joints in TX
I arrived in Texas about 8 years ago from NC. To me, BBQ will always mean PORK. Beef is nice for variety, on occasion.
That said, Hard-8 in Stephenville is pretty good and the beef ribs at Coopers inthe Fort Worth stockyards is the best beef BBQ I've had anywhere outside my back yard.

I don't know if the land lord can legally enforce this or not.

Re: Best BBQ Joints in TX
P.S. PORK IS NOT BARBEQUE!
The only bbq I get any more is when I come through Texas or Oklahoma.
Have you noticed how BBQ differs in South Texas, East texas, and Central Texas?
I beg to differ. For this NC girl, transplant to TX, BBQ will ALWAYS be pork, vinegar based sauce. Don't get me wrong ...

Re: Breaking: Officer and Two Others Shot in Richardson
The surviving victim claims that the DART PD officer was the one who shot him, rather than the suspect. This is bad news for DART of this is the case. Maybe they need better training. It would be bad publicity if you are more likely to be killed by DART PD bullets than by actual criminals. KNOW ...

Re: Breaking: Officer and Two Others Shot in Richardson
I caught a little bit of this on the news late last night, there was a followup discussion in the newsroom (Fox 4) with a Dallas City Council member about this....the gist of it was "we need to protect citizens at whatever cost....we can't have guns on DART, etc....I'm in favor of doing whatever ...

Re: Fatal Accident True Story of a Friend
We had a newly graduated SEAL do something as dumb here last month. He was impressing his new friend of the feminine persuasion back at his place after a night of drinking, went to show her how safe the gun was, and blew his brains out by putting it to his head and pulling the trigger.
I've ...

Re: Do you have to tell cop if you have a gun in your car?
Asked the question to DH and he said that while you don't have to if you don't have a CHL, he personally would. This coming from a cadet in the local Police Academy so take it for what it is worth.

Re: My first 30.06 encounter.
It never hurts to remember "concealed means concealed".
Exactly!!! I was just thinking the same thing. If I saw that sign, I'd walk my happy ass right on in. If it is concealed, they don't know it is on me. The sign isn't legal anyway. It's not advisable to mess with somebody that knows a little ...
