Re: NICS denial / deferred adjudication question

Just an update on an old thread. Got plastic today, so YES I am eligible for LTC! I put it off way too long because I dreaded possibly finding out otherwise. Glad I finally applied. Sent standard paperwork along with court documents of disposition. Waited about 3 months and it showed up yesterday!!!!

Got this in the mail yesterday from the US Dept. of Justice, NICS appeal review.....

The fingerprints you submitted are identical with those in a record that was used to deny your firearm purchase. The documentation you submitted has been reviewed, and based on further review and investigation, we ...

Re: NICS denial / deferred adjudication question

Thanks baldeagle and scottDLS for the references above. Yes this was in Texas. From what I have read above, I should be eligible for a handgun purchase and my CHL. This is truly good news. My wife and I both plan to get our CHL in the near future.

Re: NICS denial / deferred adjudication question

I know for sure that you would be denied for CHL, as far as just buying a gun- not sure, but possible.

Are you sure about this???? This happened 21 years ago. A couple of posters above seem to think differently. Can anyone clarify this or refer me to the appropriate law that deals with CHL and ...

That is where I am right now. I got the court documents today, but cant ...

This is my first post here. I just found this forum while looking for some answers about handgun ownership and chl. It seems like there are some really knowledgeable people here, so hopefully someone can help me with some answers. I have been a hunter all my life, but with all the violent home ...
