I'm wondering if you own a business property in Texas that's open to public, can you open carry? For example, if you own a mall, can you open carry in your mall?

I think you should contact your instructor again and make sure that you completely understand him. If he insist that you could still carry with 30.06 sign, then you might need to contact DPS and check with them for clarification, then may be you'll have to let DPS know that you took ...

The white letters on glass type sign is pretty common. As to whether its legal or not may take a court case to determine as there is no definition of what constitutes contrasting colors.
