Re: Can't wait!

I took the class on 1/14/12 and received my CHL on 2/18/12. Considering my fingerprints were rejected twice 34 days was not too bad.

Is CHL carry legal on Corps of Engineers Property

I visit Joe Pool Lake often. Specifically a radio controlled model airplane flying field. Joe Pool Lake is Corps of Engineers property. The flying field is in a City of Grand Prairie Park on Corps property. Can I carry with my CHL legally at the flying field?

Re: CHL-16 clarification for 30.06 sign

Actually I was a bit disappointed in the CHL class that I took. As far as the shudda part the 30.06 sign was touched on as well as the 51 sign but not to the extent that I would have liked. I felt that more time could have been devoted to handling CHL related conflict resolution. It was a long class...

Re: CHL-16 clarification for 30.06 sign

Very good information. How does this apply to a local city Police Department?

CHL-16 clarification for 30.06 sign

I would like for someone to explain to me what (e) in red below means. It is a bit confusing to me. Thanks (A) a card or other document on which is written language identical to the following: “Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a pers...

Re: Why did you get your CHL?

goose, no apologies are necessary. I really do appreciate how you used restraint in dealing with the situation. The little girl's life was possibly in danger as was the woman's. I don't appreciate the dispatcher's attitude or the LEO's slow response to a possible life or death situation. Of course, ...

Re: Fingerprint Rejection Twice

Plain water will hydrate the fingertips enough to raise ridges in about 90% of people. For the others, we use CornHusker's Lotion. Not just any lotion - has to be CornHusker's. Don't know what magic ingredient is in there. Don't know why it works. We just know that it does. Like Keith said - other ...

Re: Fingerprint Rejection Twice

The L1 tech simply sprayed water on my fingers both times. Maybe she needs some additional training. Wish I had known about the lotion.

Re: Fingerprint Rejection Twice

You may be right since there will be no opportunity for a third fingerprint set to be rejected since L1 won't do a third set. This morning I called DPS/CHL and asked what the next step was going to be. The lady checked my status and asked me to call again in a week. She did tell me that upon a secon...

Fingerprint Rejection Twice

I'm in that group of folks who have very little ridge detail on my fingers. I have completed all of my requirements for a CHL and all of my documentation has been received. I have been to L1 twice and twice I have received an e-mail that my fingerprints have been rejected. I understand from L1 that ...
