Re: Renewals

From a quick glance, this looked to be the most recent thread regarding renewals.

I submitted my renewal on 5/4 and got the plastic today(5/23). Much quicker than I expected. Figured I'd pass on some good news.

Re: tu Officer mysterious discharge

http://kxan.com/2016/05/17/officer-hurt-in-accidental-shooting-on-on-university-of-texas-campus/ I call this mysterious because I don't know how the gun just woke up and decided to fire while holstered. -Didn't say he touched it, just that he was talking and it fired inside the holster. Maybe it ji...

Re: Glock with identity issue

I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the why, but the Glocks are the only guns I own that have the SN on the barrel. I believe my 1911, P225, and M&P only have the SN on the frame(could be wrong on those, don't have them in front of me). Glocks are my primary carry weapon so they get the most face t...

Re: Glock with identity issue

Ah ha. I'm such a NFA rookie that I completely mis-read the new rules. Thanks for clearing it up. I had always had in the back of my mind to do a trust anyway. My research has begun on suppressors. Thanks guys.

Re: Glock with identity issue

I've never been able to justify the cost to get a suppressor Same here - TAM and I were in the same boat until we discovered how to make our own. You still have to pay the $200 tax-stamp, of course, but the suppressor parts are only around $150 (varies a lot depending on size, materials wanted/need...

Re: Glock with identity issue

Legally you're in the clear. Some buyers might be a bit picky about having all matching serial numbers, but that's just them being picky. Exactly. I'm going to be replacing my G17 and G19 OEM barrels with threaded barrels, as I have another suppressor build in mind. Yep, I'm a jealous man. I've nev...

Re: Glock with identity issue

This is what happens when I post a question after only 1 cup of coffee. :sleep Story of my life. Although I choose Mt. Dew as my poison. I used to do a Mt Dew IV on a daily basis. As the years progressed, just couldn't handle them anymore. I do miss the taste though. Legally you're in the clear. So...

Re: Glock with identity issue

Thanks TAM. That's what I kinda figured but wanted to poll the community. The barrel was purchased as a stand alone replacement barrel from a Glock dealer so it has a unique serial number that's a different format than the pistol. After sitting here thinking some more about it, I've seen several Glo...

Glock with identity issue

I have a question that's been in the back of my mind for a while. Would it be hard for me to sell a Glock 32(.357SIG) that has a factory Glock .40 barrel? Somehow I've misplaced the original .357SIG barrel so it'll likely be forever a converted gun. I guess my main concern is that the serial numbers...

Re: Altitude Trampoline Park Grapevine posted?

The Grapevine location did not have any signs posted. Hopefully it's a corporate policy and you'll be good to go. Good luck. One thing though, even though I was a parent and didn't have the correct wristband, we still all participated in a dodge ball game prior to the party so if dodge ball is your ...

Altitude Trampoline Park Grapevine posted?

Anyone know if the Altitude Trampoline Park in Grapevine is posted 30.06/30.07? I have a new retention holster to test out.

I do not know if it is my lack of computer skills or if his website is down, but I cannot pull up the Andrew Monarch site? http://www.andrewsleather.com/monarch.htm Carl, I have a Miami Classic you are free to borrow, with holsters/mag holders for a 5" 1911, and an HK USPc (the one I sold you a few...

Re: Calling Should Holster Users

I am in the DFW area. I wished I was closer because that is a good ideal. What part of DFW? I'm in Westlake/Southlake area during the day and south Arlington in the evenings. I have a Galco Jackass for Glocks that you can try. I won't be able to have it available until Friday though. It's my go-to ...

SIA,

John with Breitling is as good a match as Jeff Gordon or Michael Shumacher with Tag Heuer.
His house in FL is in a development with other pilots and his 707 sits under a "planeport" next to his house. That's an unusual sight.

Re: "Yuppie 911" GPS beacon allows boneheads to summon help.

There is also a watch made by Breitling called the Emergency that has a built in beacon on 121.5 mHz. Granted it's mostly for pilots, I have heard that some land rescues have been done successfully using it. Cool watch, down side is the price tag. IIRC, around $4k-$6k for a stainless steel and $10k+...
