Re: Remington 870 w/detachable magazine

My only hangup with detachable magazines on shotguns is when switching ammunition, for example from a buckshot round in the chamber to a slug, the Select Slug Drill (Fire buckshot, rack slide chambering another round of buckshot, threat is still active because he is too far away for buckshot, inser...

Re: “Keep and Bear” - a documentary movie

I just watched this myself, and it was really good.

It is worth getting the Amazon Fire TV Stick just to watch this show.

Re: Front Sight Focus---Or Not...

The terminology I like to use is, "When the metal is surrounded by meat, send it". In other words after you draw the handgun and the handgun moves from the side of your body into the lower part of your peripheral vision, generally the front sight protruding above the slide, or barrel if using a revo...

Re: My guns don't need to be pretty, they just need to work

Just about everything I have now is matte finished, non reflective, fiberglass stocked. I gave up bougie bougie for all weather performance long ago. I see firearms as tools, not as ornaments. I have owned two Weatherby Mark Vs, one in .270 Weatherby Magnum and one in .300 Weatherby Magnum. Both of ...

Re: Is the .40 dead?

Is it dead? Not yet. IME 9mms are easier and cheaper to shoot, and IME the .40 has more recoil/muzzle flip than a .45 in a similar sized handgun. This may be due the .40 running at almost twice the pressure of the .45. IMO the .40 is a good cartridge that provides optimum antipersonnel ballistics fr...

Re: What are the gaps in your collection?

As scary as it sounds, just one. I want a Controlled Round Feed, Claw Extractor, Winchester Model 70 in .458 Winchester Magnum. The gap in my collection is a rifle that will take any animal on this planet. I handload and I also cast bullets. The .458 Win Mag can be loaded with Trail Boss and a 300 G...

I don't see anything happening past probation for her or the two yutes.

What is the current trigger pull weight for NYPD Glocks? 12 pounds? No wonder they can't hit anything.

Re: London mayor delcares intense new "knife control" policies to stop the epidemic of stabbings

Gimme a piece of scrap steel and a concrete floor :). A cutting or stabbing instrument can literally be made from almost anything. The Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville has many examples of this. I can't believe governments actually believe banning material objects will reduce crime. Just my .02, Le...

Re: .45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber

Rob Leatham has probably put more ammunition downrange than everybody on this forum combined. With that being said, if there is suddenly an epidemic of human beings being attacked by Pepper Poppers, I will switch back to a .45. :fire Just my .02, LeonCarr I say carry the platform and caliber which ...
