Re: IL: Man is killed trying to grab a CHL's gun during potential road rage
My pure speculation but based on just the first thoughts and feelings that popped in my head watching the video. The guy outside's body language looked fairly relaxed, he didn't appear all amped up "in a rage". The move of his arm into the vehicle was kind of slow. My first thought was the guy in ...

Made me think of the old school "rock salt"...I don't know if that was real or legend but my understanding, used to chase off trespasser, thief, etc. I don't know of anyone actually using rock salt just heard anecdotes.

Re: Ukraine goes all 2nd amendment all of a sudden
I saw some video recently of Ukraine citizens who had just received their AK's.
They were laying prone on the ground, pointing downrange, but not actually firing. A white haired grandmother and a teenage/young 20's woman were 2 of the new shooters. Bless their warrior spirit hearts.
Russia will ...

From English Pravda, just talking about one of the airfields. Another article claims Russian sub with 160 nukes surfaces off US coast.
"over 200 Russian helicopters were involved in the operation.
"The success of the landing operation was ensured by the suppression of the entire air defense system ...

Re: Ukraine goes all 2nd amendment all of a sudden
It's all so preposterous. Putin has NO interest whatsoever in harming the Ukrainian people, their infrastructure, etc. His actions are directed towards the Ukrainian military, who has spent the last 8 years murdering over 14,000 of the ethnic Russians of Donbass with almost daily shelling and ...

Re: Ukraine goes all 2nd amendment all of a sudden
I heard one report on the gun giveaway last night. The reporter said he spoke with an older man who just picked up his AK. The man told the reporter he didn't know anything about guns or how to shoot. He was going to go home and google how to use it.

Re: TX: Houston man robbed at ATM fires at fleeing robber, critically wounds 9 yo child passing by in car, arrested.
Right... you should not shoot at an assailant running away, BUT.... the law says you can use deadly force to stop an armed robbery, and to prevent "theft in the nightime" "when the property can not be recovered by any other means." I'm not sure that this precludes shooting at an armed robber ...

Sounds like an aggravated assault case (assuming the little girl survives) and probably a hefty civil suit.
Unfortunately it feeds the anti-gun folks as well.
I hope this little girl has no long term consequence.

And this was a lawful permitted shooting regardless of time of day, because he was stopping a felony in progress?
I think 9.32 2 B covers it.

(1) if the actor would be justified in ...

Re: China: their growing power in the world
China has developed the ability of one satellite to "tow" another.
One of my speculations for years has been future military capability of taking out foreign satellites. I know there are multiple ways to do this but this is one.

And on a positive note, the 9th circuit ruled the closure of gun stores in LA and Ventura counties as non-essential businesses during the pandemic was unconstitutional.

Re: Officials negotiating with man reportedly holding people hostage at a Colleyville, Texas, synagogue
From the realm of never let a good crisis go to waste: Local newspaper ran an article today that was provided by the Texas Tribune. Seems the Giffords folks have jumped on this incident and are proclaiming (without any information from LE on where how perpetrator obtained firearm) that the ...
