Teen killed, 11 wounded in night of violence. Chicago land. I thought gun control do work, no? Maybe the Chicago gangs are the exception for gun control.

At 9:05 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Division Street in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, four people were wounded when someone approached them on foot and began shooting, according to a release from police News Affairs. Police said the shooting appeared gang-related.

A 23-year-old woman was shot in the back and was in serious condition at Stroger Hospital. A 30-year-old man was shot in the leg, and a 24-year-old man in the shoulder; both were in good condition at Stroger. A 23-year-old man shot in a finger refused medical attention. The attacker fled south through an alley, and no one was in custody, police said.

At 9:31 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Morgan Street in the Englewood neighborhood, a 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were shot in their legs when an assailant approached and began shooting. The woman was sitting in a vehicle while the man was standing by it. Both were listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center and Stroger, respectively.

At 11:34 p.m., a 25-year-old man was driving in the 2300 block of South Washtenaw Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood when he was shot multiple times and subsequently crashed into a tree. He was listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.

At 1:01 a.m., a 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg in a drive-by shooting in the 8000 block of South Elizabeth Street in the Gresham neighborhood. He was listed in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Police are looking for a silver or gray older model box-shaped vehicle. No one was in custody.

About 1:50 a.m., a person was shot in the face and critically injured, according to police. The shooting happened in the 3700 block of West Pippin Street and no one was in custody, police said. There were no other immediate details.

About 2:30 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in the elbow in the 1500 block of East 84th Street in the Marynook neighborhood, district police said. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center in good condition, police said.

At 5:12 a.m., a 25-year-old woman was shot in a drive-by while standing on the sidewalk in the 800 block of East 65th Street in the Woodlawn neighborhood, the release said. She suffered gunshot wounds to her side and back and was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings, and area detectives were investigating.

Earlier in the day, a 35-year-old woman was killed and five other people were wounded in separate shootings."

"Police are also investigating a gun battle in the western Sydney suburb of Auburn early yesterday morning in which two teenagers were injured. It is believed the battle was between members of the Bandidos and Notorious.

Officers also believe Notorious members sprayed two western Sydney houses with bullets on Wednesday night. The seven people inside the homes at the time were lucky to escape injury.

There was yet another drive-by shooting in western Sydney last night, when a house in Bossley Park was shot at while a man and woman were inside. They also escaped injury.

There have been many other shootings across the area in recent weeks, as well as the bombing of a Hells Angels clubhouse in February."
