HB 3790 by Pitts - POSTPONED TILL JULY 11th at 10 a.m. (laughter)
HB 3640 by Pitts - POSTPONED TILL JULY 11th at 10 a.m. (laughter)
Pitts
"We move to postpone all fiscal matters, mr Otto and ___ will do the same"
We don't have to take these today, there are SB companions for all these
HOPEFULLY MY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE CAN MEET TOMORROW ....

If we take up these today, nothing else will be heard today
Though we don't have to hear these today, we DO need to hear them next week.

and should be posted here when announced http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/Committe ... ?Chamber=H" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Minutes will be posted there "sometime" afterwards

Pitts still talking

"If we do NOT pass these bills next week, they will run out of money before the next session, so postponing these so other HOUSE bills can be heard, then next week, we'll hear the Senate substitutes for all these. We'll need to pass those so everyone doesn't run out of money"
;-)

Some other rep asking about pre-filed amendments they might need to file
Pitts said my goal is to take care of these as soon as we can ...

Villareal asking about SB 1811/HB1 and Medicaid running out of money timeline

Point of order out of time

HB 3665 now by Otto - Postponed - until 10 am JJuly 11th

HB 3639 (waiting for SB 1581) Postponed - until 10 am July 11th
Question: ............ Extending medicaid and extending school finance ... running out of money before next session
Question: basically the same question

to substitute the SB which needs to pass so schools don't run out of money ... before Legislature meets again ;-)
Too late then to hear HB 3639 .... they're "stuck with" SB 1581 .... Want schools to run out of money?

(Might be easier to hear SB ... than argue substituting? ... after today, can't hear HB ;-)

Schools need money ... Must pass SB)

:iagree:

Perhaps the rest of the Appropriations cmmitte has not read SB 1518 yet ... they have been busy ... they have not considered it yet ... until tomorrow ... which will be too late to hear this House Bill should be an interesting committee meeting.

No committee member ( nor other house member) brought up the guns on campus part on the floor ... while people were asking questions on reasons for postponing the HB... I'm sure they know about it though, through faxes/e-mails/calls none objected to postponing but I'll be watching tomorrow :thumbs2:

@JasonW560 Just keep begging elected officials on Twitter. I'm sure that's what made the difference in the Senate.

IMO, this is why we need to restructure Texas government; day 1 of each session, shoo them all in and lock the doors. Throw food to them from the balconies occasionally, but don't let them out until everything has passed, failed, or been properly refused consideration by both House and Senate.

That would be more efficient than "Kung - Fu" politics
"Grasshopper; when you need to get water to the other side of a door locked by mean people, bring a block of ice.
If you bring a bucket of water, they'll stop you immediately . But...
While they laugh at you trying to push the ice through the keyhole, the ice will melt and water runs under the door; they'll enjoy the show a long time, until all the ice is melted they'll be laughing at you trying to push the ice through the keyhole."
