How Long Does it Take?

Post by DonFromTexas » Wed Aug 05, 2015 2:49 pm

I did a lot of searches, but don't seem to find any current waiting time information. I did an online application on 14 June, and did the fingerprints on 16 Jun by an agency that sends the results directly to DPS. I just now completed the class and firing range, so how long should I expect to wait for them to make me a license? I am anxious, can't you tell?

Long Answer: There's a section in here called "The Waiting Room". Folks in there typically post timelines.

Short answer: Two weeks to Two months with no discernable reason or rhyme to the timeframe.

You've sent the CHL 100 form that you got in class to DPS, right?

I sent my paperwork in by email and waited the 60 days before calling after no status change online. I called and was told that they lost my email and had to send it in again. :banghead: My status change I believe about 2 weeks after resending. Finally after 4 months, I received my chl.

Seems to be around 3-4 weeks currently.
