A Christian Perspective of Self-Defense

#1

Post by ClarkLZeuss »

This is an online article, but practically a book, and is an excellent read. The author covers the subject of self-defense in the Bible from more angles than I could have thought up. It's not a one-sided rant, nor is it preachy, but honestly explores all the spiritual implications of self-defense. More than puffing up my head, I felt like this article benefited my character. If, like me, you've ever wrestled with the moral and spiritual ramifications of carrying a deadly weapon, then I think you will get a lot out of this:

(BTW, to the mods: I wasn't sure if this was the right section to put this post in, or if a religious topic is appropriate here, so re-file as needed)

Another great book to reiterate these perspectives is "Shooting Back" by Charl Van Wyk. Quick read, well planned out. Made me think twice about my beliefs, I even adopted a few new ones.

Thanks for posting. The wife and I often tackle the subject from different angles and it good to see we are not alone.
I support the right to arm bears.
