I thought we had problems

PAU, France (AFP) - The mayor of a French village has issued a decree banning residents from dying in his territory unless they own a spot in the overcrowded cemetery.
"It is forbidden for any person not having a plot in the cemetery ... to die on the territory of the village," the mayor of the southwestern village of Sarpourenx wrote in a decree that warned of "severe punishment" for offenders. :rules:
I'm wondering what the severe punishment is,
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them

Just out of curiosity, has any U.S. politician ever proposed a law to ban crime? Although silly, it seems like a good counter to the frequent "ban guns" proposals that come out. It would be interesting to see how the press would react to a very well written bill.

When the Royalists returned to power they wanted to punish Oliver Cromwell, who had toughtlessly died a couple of years earlier. They dug up his body and had it drawn, hanged, and quartered, and threw his remains in a pit.

Later regimes typically tortured and killed the families of enemies that were out of reach.
