I am pretty sure that won't be an issue. The step dad is heading for prison. He will soon be married to a dude named Boseaphis.

More likely it will be "Bubba".

NOBODY wants to meet "Bubba". He isn't to bright and he gives his cellmate a WHOLE new meaning to the words "anal retention"

Actually, you guys don't know that. Truly, you don't.

The lucky husband's name could be Bubba, or Killer, or "Fingers", or Squinty, or Rocky, or Mad Dog, or Mumbles, or Catfish, or Red, or Crash, or Big Daddy, or ...........whatever. But you can't possibly know his name will be Boseaphis.

I recall years ago my builder telling me his wife convinced him not to keep a gun in his truck, like he could have gotten mad enough to use it on one of his subs (or customers!). The step-father was angry & that he had access to a weapon is seriously unfortunate.
There was a General Contractor I remember from years ago like that. That guy would get madder than a wet hen over the smallest things. He loved running up real close to anyone who dared do something to get his dander up and stomach butt them...LOL. He acted like he was going to attack. Funny thing was, the guy was fat but did not appear to be a tough guy. Just the same, everyone avoided him like the plague. Your story reminded me of him.
Yeah this guy was a GC too and we've met a couple people like him; can be real nice guys until you rub them just the wrong way and then they become (un)holy terrors.

In thinking more about it I'm sure he said that he used to CARRY; then his wife convinced him to keep his gun in his truck. In that way they hoped he'd cool-down if he had to go to his truck to get his gun. We were new to TX at the time and the story sort of amazed us to be honest...

Maybe the whole type A personality it takes to run a business occasionally comes with an inherent temptation to be frustrated by the stupidity of others. After more than 30 years of dealing with folks from the construction business, I have gone full circle from being frustrated by stupidity to expecting it. :biggrinjester:

I suppose I was figuring it would be a Boseaphis because the guy is from Ft. Worth. :tiphat: Everybody knows there ain't no Italian names like squinty in Ft Worth. I guess there could be a Catfish or maybe a red. But there sure ain't no Mumbles or Squinty.

Yeah. You haven't lived until one of your employees calls and informs you the crew just changed out a complete system at the wrong house.

Feel sorry for the little girl...she loses her daddy and her step father. Unfortunately, this is just more fuel for the anti's and their "If there were no guns, this wouldn't have happened" battlecry.

The girl may be better off without them.

While I don't doubt what you say about the anti's to be true (and about the little girl for that matter), we both know if it wasn't a gun, it could have been a knife, or even a blunt object. When some people want to hurt others, they find a way, and that's the sad reality of it.

My prayer is that she did not witness it.

The guy needs jail like now. :mad5
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?
