Shooting of man holding water nozzle angers family

I initially posted this story a few days ago as there was news of the jury awarding the man's family 6.5 million dollars.

However I took it down after I saw a picture of the water nozzle he was holding.

No where could I find that it was attached to a hose or if water was coming out. I am making the assumption that no water was coming out and it was not attached to a hose.

It looks like a gun.

He was drunk and he pointed at the police.

The neighbor who called police and reported a strange man with a gun, was new to the neighborhood and did not understand that this man comes to his friends house to sober up.

All this neighbor knew was that the friend was not at home and a man was there waving what looked like a gun.

Sad story.

I'm glad I have never done anything stupid when I have gotten drunk. (that I know of)

If you get drunk a lot. Odds are going to catch up with you. This guy apparently did and his odds ran out that day.

Police cars are not equipped with binoculars or some other device to help officers observe from a distance?

Maybe that should be required along with their riot guns.

I wonder what happened to that thread. That makes sense to some of the questions I would have had as I stated. Drunks often do some real stupid stuff.

Last job we purchased our own bino's, but mainly used them to watch crack houses or street vendors from cover.

None of that stuff will be issued, typically.

Yup I carried my own until I went to the k9 unit, then had them issued.
