Re: The Gun Belt Poll
I use the 1.5" Comp-Tac belts daily unless I wear my Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt (1.5" / 5 stitch). The wilderness belt was bought for cargo shorts and pants and competition use.
One complaint i have with the black Comp-Tac belt is that it is thicker than the brown belt and my mag carrier does not close all the way (comp-tac teklok) (sp?) With the brown belt it is just fine even with the velcro added.
Great products for everyday -

I only have a Galco and a Blackhawk and the Blackhawk is by far the stiffest and has held up better.
Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Wilderness Tactical and it has been great; their customer service is first rate as well. This is my only real gun belt for the time, but if I decide to get a leather one it will be from the Beltman.

They are used by rock climbers. This link shows a newer model buckle than mine. I bought mine a several years ago. I like it because it is very strong, stiff, and the buckle doesn't slip at all. I can snug my IWB very tight against my body and it will stay.
The leather belts I have invariably have the holes in the wrong place. I got tired of punching a hole between a hole.

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
When I joined the forum a couple years ago, I was carrying with a shoulder rig that a friend made for me. I bought a Supertuck for my PT145 and wore it with my regular belts for a while. TAM mentioned Double Duty belts from Cabela's were pretty strong and stiff. I bought a brown and a black one and have not worn then out yet.
I have entertained the idea of a Crossbreed belt with Velcro inside for better concealment, but I haven't acted yet.

Only own a Crossbreed.......based on what I have read I will look at Blackhawk now......

I own and use a Wilderness Tactical belt, but I also own and have used a gun belt from D.M. Bullard. I haven't been able to wear that one for a while though due to an "expansion of my local economy."

Another good option A & G Custom Gun Leatheraustinrealtor wrote:All you folks voting "OTHER" ... what do you use?
Good product and a great turnaround if you go with their express service.
Haven't ordered from these guys in a while, but they're decent, though for the price there are better options Rafter S

As an "Other" voter, I carry using a Little Bear IWB/OWB holster with a Little Bear Belt. No complaints on either one, except some lock tight would have been nice. The website seems like its in transition, but here it http://littlebearholsters.com/inwaandtuho.html

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Maybe I haven't been enlightened yet but how does a different belt help anything? If you ask me, no matter the belt, I am wearing it at the same tension around my waist. Now I wouldn't wear a weak black braided belt from Walmart as those stretch but I've been using my standard brown leather belt that my girlfriend got me from the Gap and it works just as well as any other belt I could imagine. What am I missing?

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Do you normally wear IWB or OWB? It makes the most difference with OWB because the stiffness keeps the gun held more tightly to the body rather than letting it twist outward. It does the same with IWB, but to a lesser degree since the pants already keep the gun from turning out too much. With either method, the weight of the gun can also thinner belts to stretch out of shape on the gun side.TexasAggie09 wrote:Maybe I haven't been enlightened yet but how does a different belt help anything? Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Aggie, try a stiff gunbelt and you won't go back.
I started off with using a 1.75" 5.11 Operator belt because that was part of my uniform. I got to keep it & used to wear it a bunch. However, after a while it does get uncomfortable whether or not I'm carrying.
I needed a nicer belt in brown for some occasions & saw one on a website where I was also about to order a bunch of ammo, so I had them throw that in. It is thick, but not very stiff. So, I looked at the belts at WalMart & found 2 that I like. 1 is nylon & leather from I think Dickies & is very stiff. The other has metal ringed eyelets the length of it. I wouldn't get through a metal detector wearing that at all! Since I go to rock concerts & stuff, I like to wear that a bunch too.

I felt the EXACT same way, until I got my Crossbreed, and found out the belt does make a differenceTexasAggie09 wrote: If you ask me, no matter the belt, I am wearing it at the same tension around my waist.
If you have read above to my other posts on this thread, just last week, I received my new blackhawk belts and wow, I have retired my Crossbreed belt, the Blackhawks are kydex reinforced (or reinforced with something) and are amazing
And if you go to their site, http://www.blackhawk.com/product/CQC-Pi ... 794,61.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, they are about $30, but depending on the size you need, some are as low as $14.99 ( I bought a black and a brown for a total of $30 + shipping. But even for $30 for one, well worth the investment
