San Antonio? Don't forget San Antonio... that's no stronghold of Texas Conservatives!

And three-quarters of the Texas counties near the southern border. Other than that swath of blue near the border, the only counties that went majority Dem in the 2012 election were Dallas, Bexar, Travis, Harris, and Jefferson.

The OP stipulated "pointless," so ACOE lands get my vote, as well. While not the first restriction I would like see removed, I agree it's pretty much the most pointless.

I’ve contacted my State Rep, Gary Elkins, about co-sponsoring HB560. Have you contacted your Rep?

I can tell you as a "local Leo" we can enforce federal law. But then it depends on the laws. Immigration law is usually off limits. It would be a radio call to the post office as we are not running in there checking. If I had the call, I would be calling the postal inspector to handle.
Isn't there some Act or vote that has to happen to enable non-federal LEOs to enforce Federal immigration laws?
I thought there was some attempt to get a Texas agency (HPD?) to enforce immgration law, but they declined.

I stopped going to Benbrook lake because of this.
Same here... most screwed up Lake around. ACOE owns the land, but Sherrif's Dept patrols most of it, TRWD owns the water, and though it is part of the Trinity, the TRA does virtually nothing with it.

Im glad someone posted this because I couldn't remember the name of it. Since I got my CHL I pretty much don't fish anymore unless its on a private land or pond. I hope all this goes through.
