McAllen Central Bus Station

I rode Tornado bus from Dallas to McAllen yesterday. The central bus station station, owned by the city, is posted 30.06. However, it's city owned, old language, and the Spanish references the wrong penal code (3.06).

I spoke to an employee who had some level of leadership who confirmed city ownership. I asked about the sign and he said it was posted because someone once carried a pistol and that was bad. Anyway, I advised him that I'd be beginning the process of reporting the facility to the state attorney general. He said guns were dangerous and that folks can't carry them in public. The level of ignorance about firearms in the Valley kills me every time. I grew up here.

An entry has been made submitted on texas3006 as well.

It's an invalid sign, but still illegal for them to post it, so I would definitely report it to the AG.

Please do, and if you could also complain to the McAllen City Attorney's office about the downtown food court across the street (also city owned - the municipal parking garage building), that would be great. It's also documented on Texas3006.com and has the same leftover obsolete 30.06 decals.

Checked on bus station and food court on way to work today. As of 4pm July 6th, postings were still in place at both locations.
