On top of that I'm probably going to try to get my hands on some TruGlo night sights. Question though...

Does anybody know a good reputable person who can take that laser and modify it so that even if the manual switch is in the "On" position, the laser isn't engaged unless my grip safety is disengaged? In other words I want the laser to click on when I grip the gun and click off when the grip safety is re-engaged.

As well as a good estimate for the cost to have all of that installed?
I'd be impressed if you could get a grip safety add-on to activate the laser. The Lasermax is a sealed unit since it's incorporated in the recoil spring - modifying it would be difficult, if not impossible (think interference with the recoil spring).

Another difficulty I've got is that many IWB holsters (what I use the majority of the time) activate the laser by moving the takedown switch. The only ones that don't do this are hardshell Kydex holsters like the CTAC (and happily, my Crossbreed). This is all on a Glock 26. I've been meaning to call lasermax to get another takedown switch - perhaps mine is just too worn to "hold" position well.

Don't interpret this to mean I don't like the Lasermax - it's a quality product, and if you find the right holster for it, is a fine addition to any handgun.

Well, the Crimson Trace is close but not quite the grip safety. Most of their models have a button on the front of the grip that your finger will naturally press when you grip. Some have the button on the side of the grip instead.

But in either case, it only works when you grip the weapon. This is the model I prefer for 1911's. I have not tried them on others.
